Such a horrible experience. My teenage cousins and I were profiled by an older worker with glasses as we checked out at the registers with my aunt. She (who wasn’t even the one checking us out) followed us around and asked where we put the hats we tried on so that they could “find them because they were closing down the store”. First of all, we put them back where we found them, and second of all, it is safe to say that everyone in that store picked up something and put it back down because they didn’t want to buy it anymore. That is not illegal and it is the workers jobs to put things back where it goes. That is the main thing that retail workers do. The whole store had things everywhere that didn’t belong. No one else was singled out in the store except for me and my younger cousins, who caused no trouble whatsoever. We made the store money and purchased our items. The poor young girl checking us out looked embarrassed. She was kind, unlike her coworker that wanted to embarrass kids and made us feel like we did something wrong. Safe to say we won’t be back, and if you go to this store and pick an item up, make sure you put it back immediately or you will be followed around and singled out in front of other customers, especially if you have kids with you. Some old lady was on a power trip and needs to let kids live, geez. It’s a hobby lobby for Christ’s sakes. Picking up something and putting it back where it doesn’t belong cannot get you in trouble in a store, which we didn’t even do, and I don’t know why this lady thought she should try and “catch” us. Wish I would have caught her name so I could complain about her directly. She needs to be in check before she takes it too far and gets sued...
Read moreI love everything in this store! However returns and even exchanges are challenging. Their computer systems seem to be way behind the times. My daughter received a "Cactus Growing Kit" as a gift for Christmas and it was missing one of the items from the kit. She loved the gift but it was useless without the cactus seeds. I took it to the exact same store where I was told it hand been purchased and they did not recognize it, 4 different store employees came and looked at it. I called the original purchaser and had her on the phone so she could say where it was found within the store and how much she had paid for it. Hobby Lobby doesn't scan the UPC's for pricing, they have their own system. So even though the UPC was still on the box, the "Hobby Lobby" tag was gone and we had no receipt. A store employee and myself went to the location where the original purchaser found the kit and we encountered a new problem... They no longer carry that brand. They now have a new brand of the same sort of item. Luckily the tiny shelf tag was still in place for the old brand to confirm it had been there at one time, but it had NO PRICE only a UPC! Thankfully the store employee who was at the shelf with me was also paying attention, she called a manager and the two of them agreed to just let us make an even exchange for a new kit. This whole process took about 45 minutes. If they had been able to scan the UPC it should have been an easy process to see that it at least used to be in their system. Read moreI’m not usually one to complain about things on social media, but maybe word of mouth will make a difference. I was at Hobby Lobby in Liberty today to buy a bunch of vases. Half of them were marked one price, and the other half were marked a higher price. For the EXACT SAME vase. That’s happened at other stores, and they’ve always honored the lower price. They would NOT do it! Even after speaking with a manager! That is absurd to me!
So instead of selling them a little cheaper and making a little less, they lost my sale entirely! I wasn’t going to buy 20 of the same item and pay MORE for 1/2 of them simply because someone marked them incorrectly. That’s not my mistake. That’s on you!
