Slim Chickens — Restaurant in Liberty

What a disaster... We love Slim's. Like we go every single week to our location in Lawrence so we know what the customer service and food quality should be like! Today we ventured to the Fun Farm in Kearney but still wanted our weekly fix so ended up Google searching for a nearby Slim Chicken's that brought us to this location. Omggggg.... what an absolute mess. We ordered roughly around 1:00pm and ended up receiving our food at 1:50pm. It took THAT long. At that point, our table along with MANY others had repeatedly visited the counter asking where there food was. Everyone was informed that the kitchen was short staffed hence the reason for the slow service. My issue was that we were not informed upon ordering. It seems to me that CS could have managed expectations very easily by letting customers know that the kitchen was insanely backed up and was producing orders at a record slow pace. We would have been fine and appreciated the heads up so we could dine at a place that would be more speedy and fit for cranky toddlers who had just spent hours playing outside. When we received our food, it took about 10 minutes for our table of 7 to receive their food and then the order was incorrect and chicken was so overdone that it was essentially chicken jerky. Never again. The restaurant was also so gross. There was a child who slipped and fell on their back walking to the drink fountain because the floors were saturated with soda and food particles. It was literally the poster restaurant of "how not to run a Slim chicken's". Sadly we could have driven back near our home and eaten all in the time it took to receive our order at this location. Next time we absolutely will....

Not too long ago, I gave Raising Cane's a try, so I was looking forward to giving Slim Chickens a try while in the fast food chicken restaurant mood. My quick summary is; been there, done that. Service was fine, the restaurant was clean and nice looking, and I got my food pretty fast. I tried the 3 and 3 plate and found myself comparing my meal to Raising Cane's (feel free to check out my review). Let's start with the buttered bread. Slim Chickens was okay, but maybe I do need to try Raising Cane's again since I remember their buttered bread to be magical. I also liked the chicken tenders better at Raising Cane's since they were a little crunchier with the breading they use. Where Slim Chickens shines is in the sauces they offer, unlike the very limited options at Raising Cane's. My dinner also came with chicken wings, which were fine, but I wouldn't pick or suggest Slim Chickens if hungry for wings. They were also pretty small, which could mean they were natural chickens that were not bred to be large, or they bought small sized wings because they were cheaper and that helps their profits (you pick). For my side, I went with fries which I got a lot of. They were fine: better than Raising Cane's. Although they listed the calories on the menu, at one point I questioned the use of Slim. Was this a lower calorie fast food restaurant? I don't think so, but my mind felt like I was doing something better. If only they sold skinny drinks to go with my...

We ordered curbside service. We ordered at 6:38 and the email notification stated the meal would be ready at 6:51. We pulled into the spot at 6:45 and waited for the order. At 7:01, 10 minutes after the order was scheduled to be delivered I entered the store. The food was sitting on the counter. Several employee's were standing around. The store was not overly busy. 1 person was in line ahead of me and the seating area didn't have a large number of people. I explained I ordered curbside service, was asked for my name and the employee pointed at the bag of food. The employee apologized but gave no reason why it wasn't delivered curbside. After getting the food it was obvious it had been sitting on the counter, NOT under a heating element, for several minutes. The food was cold. Fries were stale. The sauce had seeped through the cardboard box and the box was nearly falling apart from the amount of time it sat out - on the counter, unheated. No utensils were provided. The chicken was cold and there were charred bits from the grill in it. I will never be back to this location and I will recommend...
