Absolutely unacceptable behavior from management. While in the store, I witnessed the assistant manager openly belittling and condescending toward an employee. There is never an excuse to speak to anyone that way—especially in front of customers.
Instead of taking any accountability, the manager shifted blame and degraded the employee over issues that clearly stemmed from poor leadership—not anything the employee had done wrong. It was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and completely inexcusable.
Even more disturbing, after the employee left, the manager began speaking badly about them to customers—venting and gossiping like it was normal. If that’s the kind of conversation they’re willing to have in front of everyone, I can’t imagine what happens behind closed doors.
The situation was so off-putting that one customer who was about to buy games walked out. I did the same—I put my games down and left. I’m not supporting a store that treats its team like this.
It’s no wonder both local GameStop locations staged walkouts a few years ago. If this is how leadership continues to operate, it’s clear nothing has changed. I’ll gladly take my business elsewhere. Supporting your local game store is not only better for the community—it’s better for basic...
Read moreThe store have gotten very stagnant when it comes down to games. The store has more used games for Nintendo switch, Xbox one systems, and Playstation 4 and 5. All of there games still have the codes that have all ready been used still in the game case you ask them about new games and they tom a very bad attitude about it. If you ask the staff to order you a new game the will order you a used game then lie by saying that they ordered you a new when it was a used they ordered you. These push on customers to buy used games only. Don't shop at this game stop or any game stop in Nebraska or anywhere in the United States of America, don't even buy games from the game stop website youn will only get used games from the website. Also no one with in gamestop doesn't understand the all of the codes that are packed in the game cases are one time use only codes so they leave them in the game cases. Game stop will rip you off for your money by Jack knifing the price of used games to very close to price of new games. Again never buy game from any game stop or the website the company just needs to go under and close it's doors for good. Never buy Pokémon cards from any gamestop eather or anything that...
Read moreTried to return a defective pre-owned game originally purchased online to the SouthPointe location. Contrary to the website instructions directing me to return the game to a store, the store employee (James) told me that wasn’t possible. I explained that I was just following the directions on their website. No luck. We also bought another game while at the store. As I was leaving the store, the employee became rude with me. I told him I was frustrated with the policy, not him personally. He continued to be rude, then stated he was no longer “on the clock” and followed me and my son out to the parking lot. Things continued to escalate from there, but fortunately the employee got in his car and flipped me off as he sped away. The cherry top is that there apparently is no current manager for the Lincoln stores to report his unprofessionalism to. Won’t shop at GameStop again.
Two hours later, I had to return to the store yet again in order to return the game we had just purchased two hours earlier as the box contained the wrong game. This time, a different employee was very helpful. How does this place stay...
