Don't get me wrong, the ice cream is good, but the service was below-par. My husband and I drove from the other side of town as I received this coupon in the past from the LPS Music Festival (they got the coupon from the Cold Stone location itself). When I went to ask about it, an employee told me what specifically I could get and I ordered. Not hearing what that employee told me, my husband asked a different employee about the coupon specifics, to which they told him it was an old coupon that they don't accept anymore. When I chimed into say that my coupon is already being honored, the first employee I spoke to said "well this is my first day back" and asked if I wanted to downsize, implying I don't have the money to pay for the regular-sized option.
I will say that an employee did give us 25% off, but at that point Dairy Queen would have been a better option as it would have saved us time, money, and gas. They handled the situation in very poor taste - not to mention they forgot to make my husband's ice cream and I had to ask where it was a couple minutes after checking out. This shows the little to no organization among staff that trickles down to the customers. Honestly, if you're on a date in the South Point mall, it's the only dessert spot you're going to get, but don't go out of...
Read moreIt's been a long time since I have been to Cold Stone. I haven't been avoiding it. It's just not very convenient for me to drive there and they are a bit on the pricey side of ice cream. However, they serve excellent ice cream here. When I walked into the store, I noticed it looked clean and well-kept. I don't know when they changed the counter. They used to prepare the ice cream and have the register on the left side. The register and the prep area are on the right side (from the customer's perspective). Also, I wasn't aware that they have an app so you can order ahead of time. Even if you don't order ahead of time, it's nice to have an app so you can look at the menu before you go to the store.
Today, I was in the mood for some ice cream after having some spicy noodles for a late lunch. I decided to get the Oatmeal Cookie Batter with white chocolate chips. It was great. The ice cream not only had a great taste it also had a perfect consistent smooth texture. I never forgot that I liked the ice cream here, but I forgot was good it is until I had some today. The weather was perfect, so I sat at one of their tables outside. If you don't mind paying a bit more for premium ice cream, give Cold Stone...
Read moreMy better half, & I went here after dinner yesterday evening. While the ice cream is as good as it normally is, the store is not what it was when we first started going about a decade ago. The bathroom has always been a issue, some funky smell was permeating the whole store other day, the chipper attitude amongst the employee's seems gone, as is the traditonal jingle ditty for a tip they once had. It's just not the same as it once was. Just a little disappointed to see. I'm guessing finding good help may of played a factor in why the original owner of the store decided to throw in the towel. In recent years a few good workers have worked there, but it's hit, & miss, unlike before where most were good. Nowadays when we go to Coldstone it's purely for the ice cream, & mix ins. Which can't denied that it's of higher grade end of the ice...
