The Scheels store at Lincoln has been our go to store for all sports related purchases as well as extreme weather clothing.
We have patronized the store as long as we have been in Lincoln which is over 10 years now
My 11-year-old son is becoming heavily involved in select baseball and we have been investing in premier clothing as well as baseball equipment to encourage him in his pursuits
The Scheels store in Lincoln is the best location for our needs because of the sheer scale of products, brands and options to choose from. Just today I was at the store and I purchase a weighted bat and a hitting tee for my son. I believe it was Connor who advised me through the purchase process and he was very knowledgeable pleasant and polite throughout the process
Over the years we’ve also purchased a lot of fall clothing and winter clothing from Scheels and all of them have turned out to be very good value for the money
A visit to the store is also a unique experience in of itself, especially for children because they have a Ferris wheel sitting in the atrium in the middle of the store. My son always looks forward to riding the Ferris wheel
They also have a big candy store which has a lot of novelty items including chocolate gummy’s, ice cream, caramel apples, jelly beans etc. which provide for a pleasant browsing experience and guilty purchases!
What I have found to be very helpful is that the staff is attuned to every kind of customer, both the novice as well as the expert. I caught the fishing bug couple of years ago even though I have never been a fishing enthusiast and in order to kit myself, we simply walked into the store stopped at the fishing department and asked for help! The staff were wonderful in explaining to us the very basics and fundamentals of the art and science of fishing and matched us with the right equipment for our level of expertise
We will definitely patronize this particular store for the...
Read moreHad a very disappointing experience today at Scheels. Bought a new Ten Point Stealth NXT at the Lincoln store today. I told one of the salesman I was interested in a stealth NXT crossbow and would like a new one in the box if possible. The person who helped me, (Josh) checked to see if they had a new one in the back, they did not, so I told him I would buy the display model. He came back to the floor and he told me the only box he had was the display model. I asked if I could get the arrows put in the box , and he told me it didn't come with arrows. He then tried to sell me a package of arrows that were 22 inches long andanot the correct 20 inch length. I told him all Ten Point crossbows come with 3 arrows. He then went back into the back room with the archery manager and they brought out 3 arrows. I asked where the quiver was. He told me, (in a Stern voice) "if it wasn't in the box it doesn't come with it" . I again assured him it comes with the quiver, like all ten point crossbows do. I then showed him the description on Scheels website and Ten Points website. He went back into the back room and brought back a used quiver and a rusty bracket off of a used crossbow that was sun faded, scratched, and had mud on it. I told him I didn't want that. He then went back and found a new one. He put the instructions in the box and walked me down to the register to pay. When I got home, I realized he gave me the wrong arrows specifically for the crossbow, (not the premium carbon arrows that are suppose to come with the Stealth NXT), and also gave me the instruction manual that went to a completely different design of crossbow (reverse draw) and the crossbow was missing the scope cover. Now I have to drive an hour to try and correct all of this. I almost bought this same bow online to avoid any hassle like this, I would have never expected this...
Read moreAbout 10 days ago I called Scheels and talked to Landon in exercise. Asked if they would price match a stationary bike that Best Buy had advertised. After talking to a manager he said they would. I wanted to check one out before ordering it. So yesterday I checked it out and talked to Landon face to face and told him to order it. He comes back with an excuse that they couldn't order the one I wanted because it was a 2021 model. So then I offered to buy the one they had in stock on a price match from Best Buy that had a larger monitor for $200 more. He talked to his manager again and came back with another excuse. He said Best Buy in Lincoln doesn't have it on hand so they're not going to price match it. So, I left Scheels and went to Best Buy on 70th and ordered it. Scheels will price match as long as the difference in money is minimal. What a joke. Getting as bad as Cabela's and Bass Pro. Also if you bought a new reel at Scheels they'd spool it up with any of their bulk line for free, not anymore. I buy all my reels online now since there's no incentive to buy from Scheels anymore. Scheels use to be a great store, pretty disappointing anymore. I'll probably end up cancelling my Scheels Visa, I'm pretty much over it. 3/20/24 So I gave in and bought a suppressor at Scheels and spent around $1400. Upon checkout I asked if I could go pick out my free T-shirt. The kid smiled and said oh we don't do that anymore. It caught me by surprise, well not really the way it's been going with Scheels. It's a shame, it used to be a great store. Can't even give a lousy T-shirt for a $500 purchase...
