My first experience at Honda in Lisle was phenomenal! On a busy morning I worked with Ken L. who was friendly, enthusiastic, and empathetic. He greeted me promptly, gave me an estimated time of completion (offering a ride home), and provided a rough idea of what could cause the issues I was experiencing. After 45 minutes Ken checked in with me to explain what was wrong with the car, how much it would cost, and how long it would take (he also did this after I filled the online form). The car's service was completed in less time than initially quoted, he gave me a bill for less money than originally quoted (already a great price), and told me the next steps.

I scheduled a visit on a Friday afternoon and was sent a confirmation of my appointment. I requested an oil change and a bulge in the sidewall of my tire. I am about to embark on a long road trip and know that bulging sidewall is never a good sign.

When I arrived at 1:30 I was greeted by Gene. After explaining how I had an appointment set Gene went to my car, took my VIN, and explained my service visit as "oil change and tire rotation" (seemingly ignoring my actual issue noted on the website). I explained the issues and mid explanation Gene looks hurried while checking the clock on the wall. I apologize, understanding it is a Saturday, they close early, and nobody wants to stay late. I explain how it is a last minute service because of my concern and upcoming road trip. Gene says "yeah and its a Saturday, I'll have to see if I even have a tire in stock, most of the time its just a curb forcing the tire to pinch" after explaining the bulge and the possibility of it growing with air seeping in.

He asks me to sit in the waiting area, after one and a half hours I look out to see my car finally being put on the lift which I found surprising after making a confirmed appointment. Gene sees me multiple times throughout the hour and half and the hour afterwards without providing update. At 3:30 Gene says my name across the room and starts telling me the diagnosis. My car had no noise in the front according to his service tech who "drove it around" when the noise was only audible when the suspension was pushed up/down (I demonstrated this when I first arrived). He tells me how my battery "Failed" their test being only 8 CCA under what it was last time they told me it was "Fair". This is what he spent the most time discussing with me, the one thing I did not come for.

The oil change was "in progress" and my tire was "ok to drive on, even for a road trip". I asked if they looked at the interior of the tire to confirm no damage and Gene stumbles while telling me yes and there are no problems.

Gene has failed to tell me a price or estimated time of completion. 3:45PM Gene tells me my car is getting washed. 4:00PM I finally see my car pull up to the service entrance. Gene is nowhere to be found but my paperwork is sitting on his desk. I ask the cashier if I can just check out, she finds Gene for me, and he proceeds to explain how everything is ok and to have a safe trip. 4:10PM I finally leave.

Overall lack of care for my time, safety, or finances. I confirmed ten minutes later at a discount tire, they took five minutes to tell me it was a major issue (without trying to even make a sale) and was unsafe to drive on.

Gene was unable to provide eye contact, emphasized how inconveniencing I was from the start, and failed to do any more than the absolute minimum his job required.

I saw at least a dozen interactions with other service members while waiting. All other interactions I witnessed contained apologies for delays, emphasis on customer's patience, and explanation of issues.

I get it, nobody wants to be at work late on a Saturday afternoon. I also understand having a busy day and being backed up unexpectedly. At least decline an appointment if you do not believe you can provide the same level of service your customers come to expect on every other day of the week. This seems like a good dealer with some bad apples.

My wife and I were both in the market for new cars and dreading the whole car buying process. We put it off for months before deciding we needed to just do it. After a haphazard attempt to prepare ourselves, we ended up at Honda of Lisle where we met Scott while we were looking around. He was immediately helpful and not only found us the particular blue Civic EX Hatchback we were looking for, but offered to let us test drive it even though it was late on a Friday. We came back the following afternoon and he had the blue car alongside a red so we could compare colors. When we decided we'd like to also see white and black, he was amenable to that as well.

Throughout the entire sales process we never felt pressured or like we were being unreasonable with our expectations on price or trade in value--our biggest fears going in. The negotiation was never muddled with hidden or surprise fees. What we'd be paying out the door was plainly laid out for us.

I thought for sure our luck would change once we got to the financing department, but Shawn was just as great to work with. He didn't bat an eye when my wife said she had already secured her own financing. Years ago, we were made to feel like fools for using our own financing. We agreed to let him try to get her a better rate, but when he couldn't he didn't try to dissuade her with fuzzy math. I was set to take the Honda promotional financing, but Shawn was able to improve on that for me. He even worked with us on the extended warranties, offering different year/mileage levels to match our driving habits. It was surprisingly quick and painless, and the electronic document signing on the desk-sized screen was really cool.

Our whole experience with Honda of Lisle really dispelled our fears about buying cars. Turns out it can be easy and pressure free after all. I highly recommend purchasing a car from here....

I just bought a Honda crv ex at another location and my husband was thinking of getting one as well. We happened to be in the area and decided to come here to check out the final quote for exact one with different add on etc. when we walked in, Manny asked us what do we need so we told him we are looking for Honda crv ex with no leather since it gives us migraine and we hate the smell. He asked for my hubbys driver license and I'm not even sure why. Then he gave us a msp of a crv ex l which is $37xxx. I told him that cannot be the price cause mine cost $35xxx total and he kept arguing with me until I showed him my email with the msp cost. Then he goes and said he thought it was meant for ex-l (ok we did tell you no leather didn't we?). So he went in and out of some room or hallway to check or what not (not sure why he didn't know by hand on check on his comp) and then saying that there's none and there's no eta on the blue that we want and there's no blue anyone (which is another lie cause we were told the one on grand where I got has many colors including blue and I also search their inventory online which has a blue at another location). He kept pushing for the hybrid or some other model that has leather and like dude we said we hate leather didn't we? So then we ask about the red and he pretty much saying they don't have it. So when we said okay we don't want to make a deposit to be on some waitlist so he goes let me check again, goes away and then come back saying good news it may come in the end of the week. Okay buddy, enough with your lies. Manny or whatever his name is, is not an honest salesman so beware. Not sure about the other salesman here but this is not the way to do business. Definitely not coming back or buying...
