The Fat Guy Sandwich Shop — Restaurant in Lisle

Stopped by here before grabbing dessert next door. I’ll be upfront: I’m pretty picky when it comes to sandwiches. I ordered The Sonny, and it did not disappoint. The sandwich was excellent and hit every quality I look for these days. Good size, solid weight, real meat, and fresh ingredients across the board.

I do have one minor critique, though it’s not enough to drop the rating. The medium sandwich feels slightly overpriced for what I’d consider a strong value. Even twenty-five cents less would make it feel perfect. Still, I’m more than happy to support a local spot that’s clearly putting care and quality...

Such a great family-friendly spot! The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff made us feel right at home. The cashier was super sweet, and the cook even played peek-a-boo with our daughter using his silly clown noise — she loved it! We tried the Turkey Panini and Italian Sub, and both were absolutely delicious. The fresh avocado and tomatoes were a big plus. Even the tiny subs for the little ones looked amazing. What a find. Didn’t think I would find this one in Downtown Lisle. Great sandwiches made with freshly delivered Turano bread and fresh ingredients, soups, and sweets. Owners and staff are super hospitable. A couple of tables to dine in or simply take out. I had the Sonny, and my wife tried the Baby Joe, both hardy and delicious sandwhiches. See ya...
