Sterling Villas Apartments — Local services in Lithonia

If I were able to give it zero stars I would. I used to live in these apartments. They were called Villas on Main at the time. If you are looking to move into one of these, DON'T DO IT! They look nice on the outside, but then when you move in it is a completely different story.

My apartment had SOOOOOOOOOOOOO many issues outside of roaches. I got rid of those fairly quick, because I sprayed etc, before moving in. However, the plumbing issue in that place was one that was masked. Every other week, it seemed like, I had an issue with flooding in my downstairs half bathroom and kitchen. Thank GOD in heaven I didn't have furniture down there! I never walked barefooted in that dump.

It was so bad that I contacted the pathetic Lithonia mayor at the time. She did not return my calls. I contacted DeKalb County Watershed, they told me that Villas on Main was under an independent contractor or something. Long story short, nothing was EVER done.

Those calls came after I went outside to enjoy a little sunlight on my back patio, when I saw a bunch of what looked like wet balls of newspaper gurgling out of the sewage drain pipe in between my porch and my then neighbor's porch. These clumps and lumps also came with the most disgusting smell ever known - that of human waste!! It wasn't newspaper, it was balls of USED TISSUE AND FECES!!!! WASTE!!! FROM THE FLUSHING OF OTHER APARTMENT TOILETS!

I lived in that apartment directly in front of the leasing office. The second apartment on your right as you drive straight into the complex. That was the most disgusting thing ever! That mess was also draining into my apartment. I let the sorry @** office manager know. Do you know she asked the maintenance guy to go and pour bleach on it!!!! Not clean it up, but to pour bleach on it!

That mess literally sat there for days upon days before they came out and slop-cleaned it up. Flies and nasty cockroaches made those lumps their homes! It was SOOOOO disgusting! I hardly every cooked in my kitchen (only on desperate measures), and I NEVER used my half bathroom. Other apartments' feces and urine, etc, bubbled up in my downstairs toilet. I would hear it often.

I would also see water puddles in my kitchen, not knowing where the water would come from. It didn't come from my kitchen sink. It wasn't until I moved that I was curious to see what where it was coming from. This is gross, I know, but I had to know. With my face covered and hands gloved, I took a piece of the already torn kitchen floor (because it was already softened from the floor constantly being wet). Y'all why did it smell like URINE!!!!?????????!!!!!!!! I was livid!!!!!!!!!!

I HATED my apartment! I hate that NO ONE will do anything about the poorly managed water/waste system they have, and the sorry management that (I see) still exists.

If you move there, you will be angry at yourself that you did. You are better off finding an efficiency stay motel. If you do move there, you will see the sewage company they use be right there in the front on that metal drain door, working on something in that area. They will always have it roped off and coned up... just know, some mess is LITERALLY going down!

Oh, and if you move in that same building, toward any of the middle apartments, when it rains, your livingroom WILL be flooded with rain water... and sewage water. Just saying.

LOOK SOMEPLACE ELSE!! WARNING!!!!...

All FACTS! I HAVE VIDEO AND PICTURE EVIDENCE OF EVERYTHING ALONG WITH EMAIL CORRESPONDANCE BETWEEN THE OFFICE AND MYSELF. LITERALLY COULD HAVE SUED. (Could still sue if I wanted to)

Wish I could give less. ROACHES ROACHES ROACHES. Ants spiders and even more Roaches. I broke my lease and dipped I was in unit c-9 talked to my neighbors who had the same damn issues. The whole building is infested. Even the pest control guy openly admitted that his pesticides could only go so far and the only way to rid this apartment complex of roaches would be to burn it down. Smh they had them coming in weekly my asthma flared to an all time high. I was pregnant and literally had a plumbing issue so bad (lasted from the day after i moved in which was in october to december) that told me i couldnt use any water in my unit the issue was fixed, IT TOOK A WHOLE DAMN WEEK. Crazy part was they were refusing to put me in a hotel, you cant have a pregnant woman in a house and tell her she cant use her bathrooms or kitchens. I started raising hell about it and the lady in the office was so damn clueless. They had standing water in my unit for two months bruh. after i brought home my daughter the paranoia really began because she literally couldnt be a damn baby, no crawling no touching nothing no being in any room in the house other than my bedroom where she was in her crib. Then when those damn roaches started migrating around her crib i was done. I had to throw away my whole sofa because it was infested. Threw away my brand new bed set because it was infested. I have never in my life lived in such horrible conditions. These 5 star reviews are lies thats what convinced me to move here. Dont fall for it. My advice move...

First of all let give Thanks to the man above. I really want to thank you Ms. V for allowing us to be a part of this community. But since we have been here these last four months. It has been pure hell. Ms. V harrass me almost everyday. I was banned from the leasing office because I recorded the conversation between me and Ms. V about the letter she put on the door pertaining to loud guest which never happen. Then it went to pets I didn't have. Then it went to us being loud again and we are very loud. Then it went to the pool. All of a sudden we can't have guest in the pool. We just purchased a truck from a private owner. Has insurance on it and the new tag has been applied for. She still trying to tow just our truck. It's 3 other vehicles on this property that has never moved including the maintenance man vehicle. But yet we the only vehicle that got a sticker to tow when she see me driving the truck. I don't know what she wants from us. She is a bad spirited person and need to find a job with less people and power. She definitely abuse it over here. This makes me want to file harassment against her. And she do take cash deposits on the side to get you in. Overall she is not a good leasing agent. She still haven't sent me the muk.ber to corporate had to find it myself. Don't move here. I know we...
