Do not shop here.. or at least not the shoe department.
Rude & lazy shoe department staff.
Went shopping with my mum.. found shoes I wanted to purchase but realized they were damaged. Asked a sales associate (who at the time was talking to other staff not doing anything for at least 10 minutes) if they had another pair..which they did not.. so I asked if they could discount the pair I had tried on since the product was damaged.. sales guy stated he was not authorized to give discounts (which is fine) and acted like he could not help me in anyway (rude) & continued to try and ignore me while talking to a co worker also not doing anything work wise.. so i asked him if i could speak to the manager.. & he reluctantly called the manager.. & the manager states 10% & no return (also fine) but the sales associate did not even offer to order a new pair shipped... (i asked if that was an option & the associate did check & said 7-10 business days but his attitude was terrible ) so, not being able to trust the sales associate with his attitude & way of doing things.. i requested to speak to the manager.. when she came she stated i could either do a 10% discount no return or order a new one & have it shipped & was super professional about it .. then immediately left.. so i decided i would go ahead and order a new pair & have it shipped since i did not want to buy a damaged product for the price especially at DILLARDS.. by this time the manager had left and the guy who was supposedly helping us was GONE. After about five minutes standing at the empty register a lady who was originally talking to the sales associate prior to the manager being there offered to find our sales associate.. after a few failed attempts (another 10 minutes) she decided to try & help me but was super rude about it like she should not have to help me. I told her I wanted to order the shoes and have it shipped but she ended up just looking to see if it was available at another location then rudely asked if i was planning to go to the other location and pick up the shoes.. I was confused for a minute and she stated I told her to look up shoes and see if it was available at another location.. So I responded "I wanted to order a new pair & have them shipped to my address"..at this point i almost just called it quits (but it's really hard for me to find shoes i like) .. so she ordered the shoes & stated it should arrive within 3-5 business days (probably just ordered from the other location instead of new) & if it does not arrive within that time to call and they will track the location.. so I also made sure if there was a problem with the shoes I could return them to the same location.. which she said would be fine.
But this department is the absolute WORST department in store (not the first time they were rude but it wasn't ever so bad it made me leave immediately & not want to come back) and after today I will NOT go back to spend money there. Never had a problem in the other departments of the store but today was ridiculous. Do not...
Read moreOkay, I have always liked and enjoyed Dillard's. Not just because of the quality of merch they offer, but also because of it being an Arkansas-based and owned company. That makes me proud.
So, let's get to it...
The wife and I have a wedding to attend later this summer. In South Carolina. At 4:30 in the afternoon. In South Carolina. In the summer. Why!?!? Well, if it weren't one of the kids getting married, we'd probably have The Rona or something. But, I digress.
We decided to go there and look for a good bowtie for me to wear...you know, something that would match her beautiful dress. It's not like I'm going to come anywhere close to how amazing my wife is going to look, but I can at least try to not bring her down too much.
So, after looking quite a bit, I decided that I'd sport a tie that matches her dress the best I can. We then decided to walk around the men's side and look at a few things. Over the past 14-15 months, I've lost 75 pounds. And it's going to stay off, as my wife has shown me how to retrain my body to not want the bad stuff, and my thinking to be only about the good stuff. She's awesome like that.
Well, we were looking at a couple of shirts by my favorite men's clothier, Roundtree & Yorke. I really like the way their clothes fit me. The wife had picked out this shirt with an L on it. I told her to look again because it was missing an X in front of it (I was an XXL for years.) I knew I wasn't in a 2X anymore, but pretty much know I ain't no L.
I was going to try on these couple of XL shirts, when an employee pointed at these racks that read: "L - all $9.99". I thanked her and dismissed it. But not my wife. Nope...not her. She picked out, and I am not exaggerating, seven shirts that she liked. The only problem, other than being the WRONG SIZE, was they were all long sleeved. But, my wife had gone to the trouble of picking these out, so I was fine with trying one on. And then saying NO to all of them because I knew they wouldn't fit.
Okay, long story short (you're probably sitting there and saying, "Too late!"), I came out of the dressing room, looked at her, and asked her opinion. She told me it looked "really good" and asked me how it fit. I had to admit right then and there that she was absolutely correct of my size. I'm still kind of not sure this is for real.
We left Dillard's with close to $700 in shirts at an amazing price of a little over $110. They fit. I've gone down two full sizes (and she was working on me trying on a M sized shirt, but I just looked at her all funny like). They're brand new and still in style (which I'm almost always right at a decade behind). And, as always, thanks to my beautiful princess, I look great.
Thank you, baby! I love you so much! Oh, and you...
Read moreI would typically give this Dillards a great rating! I love shopping here and I always find the best outfits! Unfortunately I am having to change my review and only give it two stars because this last time the staff was rude, judge, and very unfriendly. They definitely judged me and did not think I was going to buy because of my outfit. They brushed me off not knowing I came in to find a dress and might even buy shoes or something to go with. After that service I did not. When visiting on Thursday I asked a sales lady what she thought would be cute for an event and she just walked away telling me that she would “find options” never came back...until about 40 mins later. I let her know the dress I purchased would be an option because I already had a good dress at home I just wanted another option for the night. Apparently she picked out a sales dress and I would think if someone said that it was an option and would possibly be returning you’d pick out something that was returnable. Very disappointed. Went to try and return yesterday and went to the same lady and she acted dumb and was very rude. I let her know that I had googled the return policy when I noticed that it was clearance to make sure I could return it and she told me anything clearance is final sale. I asked to speak to someone else and she said everyone thing her than her was busy and that I can’t talk to anyone. I left at that point there was no reason to talk to her. Not impressed with the employee both times I interacted with her on two separate days. So this morning I call customer service and they let me know that the dress IS returnable. Thank you to Dillards Customer Service for actually...
