Warning: Chipotle will always have good food, but the employees here might be rude.
I am not one to complain, and I always try to assume the best in others--but I feel I was subject to an extremely unprofessional comment from an employee on Tuesday, July 15th at the new Little Rock, AR location on 100 S University Blvd.
I was in the University and Markham area that evening, running errands after a long, stressful day. Saw lots of people walking into the new Chipotle and thought, "Wow, it's open! Perfect."
Upon walking up to the entrance, an older male greeter (manager?) asked me if I had an invitation.
"Invitation for what?" I asked.
He might have interpreted my question as being rude, but I really didn't know what was going on. How often does a person get asked if they have an invitation to go to a fast-food restaurant?
I felt his tone was a little smarmy when he replied, 'Um. An invitation for an invitation-only event.'
Not a big deal in the least bit---I didn't need the gentleman's attitude, but not a big deal overall. Invitation-only events exist (I found out later it was the soft-opening). And anyways I had other options; Chick-fil-a was just down the block.
The entire reason for this complaint is because less than 5 seconds after I turned back to my car, the older gentleman who turned me away was loudly laughing with the next person walking into the restaurant. "That was FUN!" he said, entirely unnecessarily, and in obvious reference to his role in my anti-climatic denial of entry.
I'm a laid back, 36 year-old guy. I had a long day and a burrito sounded good. I didn't need that employee's comment or the twinge of resentment I apparently still feel a few days after the fact. The University and Markham restaurant is right across the street from a hospital. Due to this proximity, people will regularly be walking into the restaurant with matters far more serious than I had that night.
The language of this complaint is intentionally restrained. A much more colorful version of my sentiment is available upon request. Based on my experience tonight, I think at least one of the employees at this Chipotle location can stand to be more professional and...
Read moreI don’t normally write review but I AM PISSED. It’s a shame when the atmosphere receives better reviews than the food!! Okay, so as of 10:38pm, I’ve called up there 3x to try to speak with a manager about my issue. Since no one is “available” to answer the phone, I guess this will have to suffice until I can contact corporate in the morning. #1. The lady who’s taking orders at the beginning, with blue/black braids…extremely rude & unprofessional. This is my 2nd time encountering her, & it was just as unpleasant as the first. Any time you say anything to her it’s this response: “Heavy sigh, shrugging shoulders, & asking what do you want me to do about it?” Excuse me? If something is brought up to you, you could at least say, “How can I help you?” Or “I understand, would you like to speak with the manager?” I was extremely nice & both times, she’s has a damn attitude. & to be honest, I hadn’t recognized initially, however, her bad attitude & poor customer service, quickly brought her to my recollection. The gentleman with the long curly hair who usually has his hair in a ponytail does EXTREMELY better & has never had a bad attitude, even when they’re hectic. The lady with the blue/black braids & poor attitude filled my order with extremely gummy white rice. & if you try to say something, she really does appear as if it’s an inconvenience to her! Question: if YOU hadn’t eaten after a long work day, or say a doctor’s appointment for a treatment of care, & were starving, would you want clumps gummy, dry rice in your food?? But let’s keep going. So 5 scoops of dry rice, then I ordered steak & another meat. Okay, fine, but why would the server tell the check out lady, “Double steak”? When I corrected & told her what I actually got guess what was cheaper? Not the double steak they tried to charge me. THEN on top of that, my chicken is burnt. It literally tastes burnt. This is the worst bowl I’ve gotten from chipotle. $20+ for gunny, dried rice, burnt chicken, poor attitudes, & poor customer service....
Read moreHighly unsatisfied with my visit this time. Employees were rushing customers through the line, and yelling at customers to see what they wanted when they were 4 people deep. The lady asked me what toppings I wanted before I had even stepped up to make my order initially. They were out of white rice and chips .. At what point do you realize you need to start making more food items?! When the containers are empty and customers are asking about it?! Apparently so at this location.. Not to mention how FILTHY the restaurant was.. garbage was over flowing the trash cans and littered all over the tables and floor. The beverage station looked like a tornado ripped through it. And this is all before I even dipped into my food.. If this is what the front of the house looks like, I would hate to see the back. The cashier said that they are out of chips until the next truck comes as well. How does this happen ?! As for customer service, it’s pretty gross when the cashier is touching her mouth and face, then touching cash, and then touching the customers food. At what point do you wash your hands?! Also, what is the point of wearing a mask when it only covers your chin rolls?! I don’t plan to return to this location at any point soon in the future. I left really disappointed and plan to voice my experience if...
