Savannah African Market — Local services in Little Rock

I have been shopping here for over a year. Today I met the owner for the first time and she's very nice. Today, the inventory was stocked full! The refrigerators were completely full. I like to buy the banana chips in all variations and she had full boxes in the back. I think she said it's possible to buy an entire box but I plan to return and buy more regardless. The store has items that you cannot buy anywhere else! I would argue most of the items here cannot be found anywhere else. The non-alcohol malt drinks I have seen in other places but this place has a broader selection. I bought 3 different kinds to try. They have Fufu, which I had only read about (Things Fall Apart by Nigerian author Chinua Achebe). I love supporting my local mom and pop shops and this one...

First timer and excited to see what they had offered bc my husband is born and raised from Africa 20+ years. I face timed him while shopping showing it off and the man was very rude and confronted me. “Are you going to purchase something or just taking photos?” First off, I wasn’t taking photos. I was looking for suggestions on what I should pick up excited to try and cook a meal for my husband. I’ll never be back. Very unwelcoming.

The one star is because of the grounded melon I bought, which I just used to cook. The melon is not good and doesn't taste like a melon. It spoiled the soup I used it to cook to the extent that we couldn't eat it. I made the mistake of buying so much melon the day I purchased food items. It's possible the producer mixed it with bad stuff before packaging. It tastes totally different from melon and tastes terrible. I know you are getting your goods from Africa; I will encourage you to look for good and trustworthy people to supply you with ground melon. People that will not mix it with bad stuff. I will be buying raw melon and grounding it myself...
