Hibernia is definetly a bonified Irish tavern, with a welcoming atmosphere which suits the tavern to boot. Food is fresh and tastes great, tap brews and the top shelf liquor exceeded my expectations by far.
Jerry runs the show and is a great guy, being the authentically Irish gentleman he is. The show's that they have from time to time are also worthy of note. It's overall a humble location to sit and eat while "sipping the suds" with friends and family alike. Clean in presentation and welcoming in a warm atmospheric manner.
5 stars to the management, cooks, and the humble servers too. It might not be suitable to everyone's style, but this is surely a place worth giving a visit in order to check that this review is fully honest and well more than legitimate.
TLDR: You're missing out if you've yet to visit this tavern yourself. Make sure to grab an appetizer or plate to go with your drink(s) of choice. No complaints to be mentioned based off my experience thus far....
Read moreI passed this place and it seemed like a hole in the wall, dive bar. When I first went in I went with a friend and was told it was seat yourself. We sat and waited about 10 to 15 mins with no one taking our order or even noticing we were there. We ended up going to the bar and ordering our drink straight from the bartender. I tried a Smithwicks and actually enjoyed it. They had live music playing (it was a Saturday) and so that was cool. The crowd was definitely older. I went back in another day and much better service. Ordered from the bar first then sat down and the waitress came and asked if we needed food and checked on our drinks often. Again it was an older crowd. this would be the type of place where i could come by myself and not worry about being "hit on" and enjoy a beer by myself or with a few of my friends that aren't wanting to get crazy. For this reason I will continue to go there...
Read moreMy friends and I came here for the second time to have a couple drinks and hang out in their pool room. The first time we came, the server and bartender was a bit stand of fish. The second time we come - We go to sit at the bar and my friend orders us some waters to start off with because we had been outside in the heat - the bartender then very rudely says to my friend: "water...?... OK..?". As if we weren't supposed to order water? I don't know but he then proceeded to ignore us entirely and continue a conversation with a couple of other guys sitting at the bar. No matter how many times we tried to get his attention. We came at a very slow time too, there was only 5 other people there. It was so rude and unwelcoming.
We will never return to this tavern and we will encourage others...
