Edit: The Vineyards' comment below is a lie, they do not care. I reached out and they have not responded. Also, I have strong reason to believe they are faking or incentivizing good reviews. After every bad review they get several 5 star ones in a single day. It doesn't seem legitimate.
Beware. These apartments have changed their names to evade the bad reviews under their previous name 'Calais Forest'. There is a Facebook page for former residents where you can see complaints called 'Calais Forest Former Residents'. I encourage you to check out that and the Google reviews for their previous properties. NPMA management also runs multiple apartment complexes across the country that may have the same issues.
The management is the same, and the staff is the same. They tried to tell us people were simply upset with the tornado and maintenance, but after our experience with them it appears the mismanagement and subpar communication remains.
I had hoped to find an apartment to move into between mid-June and July 1st, and CJ was well aware of that. We visited the apartments twice and liked the property. Eventually we had it narrowed down to two of the apartments owned by the same management. CJ told us that they were likely going to do a 100$ discount for the 2bed 1bath apartments and he would call me after the meeting had finished and they were approved. Later that afternoon he called and said it was approved and that all I needed to do was apply. He did mention it was preferred to move in earlier than mid June but at no time did he ever say it would be a requirement to move in by then.
However, the next day he called saying I would only be eligible if I moved in by the end of May. There is only one week in May left and I made it abundantly clear in our conversations I could not do that due to work. Keep in mind, I have already paid the 210$ application fee and they refuse to refund it despite misleading me and encouraging me to apply only to revoke the offer after I had applied.
I reached out to them over email and tried to resolve this without having to leave a review. I even had offered to just go to their other property owned by the same management if they would transfer my application there instead. However, they have refused and I felt that other apartment-hunters would like this information.
This not only is simply bad business practice but also violates one of the stipulations of the Consumer Bill of Rights. Under that the consumer has the right to an informed decision. By hiding the stipulations and urging me to apply because it was time-sensitive and the apartments could sell, they violated my right to an informed decision.
Just in case you go to these properties in a few years hoping that their might be better staff or that things have changed, the staff that assisted me and refused to help or issue refund were CJ and Brianna. If they are still there be cautious that you are truly getting the price...
Read moreI moved to The Vineyards at Napa Valley on 7/31/24. I had been abandoned in January by my then boyfriend, and I had to rethink my life. So began the process of searching for a "new life" and a new place to live. This was a challenge for me being single and not really knowing anyone in the area. I don't have the highest income, but I love my job. I lost my parents in 2021 from Covid, and I have no family here. So, obviously, my life has done some spiraling. I made so many calls and visited so many places. I was turned down at 2 other apartment complexes after having paid non-refundable application fees. The first time I drove in to The Vineyards, I loved the look of everything: the buildings, the trees, the hills, it almost felt like I was in a remote location even though the hustle and bustle of Little Rock was less than a half mile away. I walked into the leasing office, and I met CJ. I can't say enough good things about him, but here are a few. He was so kind and patient. He listened to my "life woes," and he heard me when I said that I just "needed someone to give me a chance." Bree was also in the office that day, and I just remember her asking in such a sweet and bubbly voice if I was going to be a new resident. I told her I was "hopeful." Bottom line, CJ took the time and found a way to make this 'new life' I had been forced into become a life filled with excitement and pride. When I got the call saying I had been approved, I felt like I was floating on a cloud because such an enormous weight had been lifted. My apartment here feels like home. There are things about this apartment that remind me of the house I grew up in. I am so relaxed and thankful. I love the location. I love my neighbors. The way the apartment is laid out makes it even more spacious. My "fur babies" are super happy in their new home. It's like it was meant to be. Also, I gotta give some props to the pool even though it's about to get cold. The location of it makes it even more relaxing and I love the neon green furniture. I think the most impressive thing about The Vineyards is what all they are doing to make it an even better place to live. Since it was hit hard by the tornado last March, they have literally had to rebuild most of the complex. There are workers out here every day sweating and doing their best to complete this huge face-lift. CJ and Bree are in constant contact with all the people they need to continue to make this a great place to live. Moving here was one of my best life decisions, and I would like to personally thank CJ for believing in me and giving me the chance I needed to...
Read moreFrom the moment I toured, I fell in love with this place! CJ showed me all the layouts and helped with what was best for me. I had to move in by a certain date and they made it all possible! The community grounds are maintained, the amenities go above and beyond from the sparkling pool to the 24 hour fitness center. What really sets this place apart is the people!! Management is responsive, proactive and genuinely kind. Which is such a breath of relief for me coming from an apartment complex that never answered the phone or emails!! All my maintenance concerns when first moving in were handled quickly, and its clear they care about the well being of their residents. Not just as tenants, but as neighbors. Inside my apartment is gorgeous, with high ceilings, beautiful natural light and modern appliances. They offer community events as well that gathers their people together for a good time and especially good food! Overall living here these past few weeks have been nothing short of safe, quiet, and comfortable. If you are looking for a place that exceeds expectations and truly feels like home, look no further!! 10/10 recommend, and...
