Very disappointed in the service from this store. I have some tires that I got a great deal on from a friend of mine and needed them mounted and balanced. I called James early in the day to find out if I needed an appointment and was told that I did not. I followed up with "what's the latest time that I can come in" and was told that they close at 6 so as long as I am there by 5:50 then they were happy to help me. So I kept working my normal shift and swung in there on my way home since it is only 1/2 mile from the house to see how busy they were. I was pleased to see that there was only 1 car in the 6 bays and there was only 1 customer in the waiting area. I figured that it was only 4:50 and a whole hour before the time that was"too late" so I should be good to go. Peter (who I believe was the manager of all people) told me that I would have to bring it in sooner in the day if I wanted the M&B done. I explained that I was told differently earlier in the day. He said to me that I did not buy the tires from them so he wasn't going to stay late to mount them. First I am not sure why he would be staying late since there was only 1 car in the bays with over an hour left in the day, and second I guess my $100 for the hours work wasn't quite enough for them since they didn't make the up-charge fee on me for the tires. What a terrible way to do business. I was truly hoping that I could find a place that was a little less busy than the Big O that I usually go to that offer good quality "hometown service" that they claim to offer. It is sad that I did not get the service that all their advertising claims to be. Furthermore it is sad that they didn't feel that I paid enough money to get a square shake on what was earlier promised to me. I could have taken the time off work if I would have known but now have to wait till after the new year before I will be able to take the time again. Back to Big O I go since they have always given good service even if they're busy. Shame on You Les Schwab!!! Shame on...
Read moreAvoid this place at all costs. We brought our 2017 Toyota 4Runner (1 year old) in for a simple, free plug/patch because our tire picked up a nail. While they were "fixing" our problem, they snapped one of the studs while tightening the lugs and had to reorder a new part. When the part came in the next day, they were installing it and messed THAT ONE up too (stretched it while installing) so now they have to order a SECOND new stud. This is unacceptable workmanship and I will never bring my vehicle back here again. Who knows what else they are going to mess up during this process so I will be bringing it to Toyota's service dept to inspect because I do not trust Les Schwab. Should have brought it there in the first place because these "techs" clearly aren't certified to be working on any vehicle. Wasted time and now wasted money to have the vehicle checked over once more. BEWARE!!!!
**Edit: Got the vehicle back and I'm amazed at the shortcuts used on our $40k vehicle. They used an Autozone stud and a Toyota Camry lug nut instead of the correct, longer 4Runner lug nut. Not even sure if the stud they used is the correct length. Hopefully the parts hold up until I can get the proper parts that are rated for the vehicle. I was also informed that the stud snapped because they torqued the nuts 20 lbs past spec. WOW. Just goes to show what kind of quality you get for a free service...
*2nd Edit: Tire is still leaking after 2 days so I took it to Discount Tire. Turns out Les Schwab only patched it and didn't use a plug. Tire is not fixable after they botched it so I need a new one. I also had to follow up with them to get the correct lug nut back, and they didn't order it until I called back 2 days later asking when it will arrive. They either forgot or didn't care. "Customer service" here is sub par. Using Discount Tire or Big O...
Read moreCOMPLETELY INCOMPETENT TECHNICIANS THAT LIE ABOUT THE WORK THEY CLAIM TO PERFORM!!!!
I was at this location a week ago Friday. I had them change my oil and requested the brakes, sway bar linkages, steering assembly and upper and lower ball joints be inspected. Which is a typical safety inspection. They changed my oil and claimed to have checked my brakes and tried to send me on my way. When I asked about the other inspections I had requested I had to wait an additional 5 hours for them to cycle me back through the wait list . They said everything was good and that they greased all my ball joints. Upon personal inspection I found one boot for my upper control arm ball joint not greased and the boot is shot needing replaced, the sway bar linkages need replace as the bushings are shot with no retainer washer in place, the rear brake pads were non-existent grinding the rotors needing both brake pads and rotors replaced. My opinion is that the technician working at this location are completely INCOMPETENT and LIE about the work they claim to have performed. There is no way possible that any of these repairs could have failed, to the degree they were at, over the timeframe of one week. Had they inspected the parts as they claimed to have done they would have found these issues and made an approximate $500 - $1000 repair bill. Yet they sent me out the door stating that the vehicle was in good condition and safe yet it was quite the opposite
DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE LIE TO AND SENT OUT THE DOOR WITH POSSIBLE LIFE THREATENING ISSUES NEEDING REPAIR!!!!!!
Added are photos of the rear brakes showing no actual brake pads. I will add picture of failed ball joint and sway bar...
