I really want to give good reviews when I can but unfortunately I just can’t with this place.
We ordered: Sesame chicken, Mongolian beef, General Tso’s chicken, some potstickers, hot and sour soup, and a kids chicken tenders.
Sesame chicken: honestly, tastes like ketchup and sriracha with something added that makes it almost cloyingly sweet. I’ve had this dish many, many times from many different restaurants, stalls, and stands and this is one of the least appetizing. It’s also needlessly spicy? I like spicy but it seemed “tacked on” if that makes any sense.
Mongolian beef: this was the most egregious offender, lol. I’ve never seen grey Mongolian beef. Too much corn starch or flour on the beef, didn’t use baking soda to velvet the beef so it was tough. I’m sorry, it was bad.
General Tso’s chicken: actually not bad, we split this.
Kids chicken tenders: they were fine, my kid ate them. 🤷♂️
Potstickers: these were like deep fried not pan fried gyoza-style. I chalked this up to me just not checking, that’s on me dawg.
Bonus round: the fried rice…
Y’all, this was the whitest “fried” rice I’ve seen. Taste was not there either, unfortunate.
I really hope that this was just an off night, I’ve had a few rough services myself so I get it. Was a tough $75 lesson I guess. Sounds like they do something very well out at least better than what we got but I cannot recommend based on our first and probably only...
Read moreI'm genuinely confused as to what the reviewers giving this place 5 stars are talking about. The only thing that was 'decent' were the crab cheese wontons, and that's not much to write home home about because if you can't get those right, then you probably can't get much else right.
We ordered multiple different dishes as well as a sushi roll, and a few different pieces of nigiri. The dishes were just not good. The orange chicken (yet another fairly simple dish to make at least passably), was just fried chicken chunks with no sauce on them. They push sauce underneath on the plate, but I guess the assumption is for you to toss them yourself at the table? The sauce was bland and just loaded with red chili flakes.
Their scallop & shrimp dish was just layered in cream and sauce. You had to go digging in it to find the actual food.
The nigiri was just not good, although we played it mostly safe given we hadn't eaten here before and didn't want to try much fish until we could verify that it was decent. It was almost as if the fish was frozen and still dethawing, as it was waterlogged and almost crunchy when it shouldn't be (fatty tune and salmon).
The only reason I am giving this 2 stars instead of one is because our waitress was nice, and the hospitality of the restaurant in...
Read moreThe food here is AMAZING! The staff was friendly, too! I had a good time here with my family. We all ordered plates of our favorites, then shared while we ate onto the personal platters. It was an elegant way to infuse an ordinary group meal with variety.
Remarks on the cleanliness: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The decor was lovely, too! Great food, staff, cleanliness, and decor made for an experience I'm eager to repeat again.
Update: I ordered orange chicken via phone for delivery, and the customer service was very good and so was the quick delivery time; no complaints, except my order was sub-par... ☹ The meat was soggy, the spices were bland, and the smell was mundane. Although it looked like orange chicken, somehow it didn't have the proper consistency when chewed. It was not the same orange chicken I had a month ago... I was disappointed. 😓
If considering delivery, maybe you should rethink it and dine in. The food was much better in...
