I called this location to ask until what time I can stop by to "sell my items", the person on the phone was helpful and said it will not take long since there was no one in line ATM and they will stop taking in items at 6pm. I arrived 25 mins after that conversation at 3:40pm and the girl (blonde hair and black streaks underneath) stopped me and said they would not take items since its close to 5pm closing time and to come back tmrw. I would need to bring my items in a bin and they dont take items in a bag. I asked if I could borrow their bins since they had so many blue ones along the wall and she said no. This was very inconvenient giving the fact that I drove 20+ mins to this location after calling ahead of time to make sure it was not a wasted trip. She was inconsiderate and sounds like they do not know their own rules or lack communication. If I had time and money to waste, I would not be trying to sell my used clothes to Platos Closet, I am obviously in need - I can't afford to waste money on gas especially after I called and asked ahead of time. Also, there is a sign that says short staffed but there were about 6 girls just standing behind the counter witnessing this interaction, the store was pretty empty with customers. On a positive note, I called Plato's Closet in Westminster, they were much nicer with greeting customers, took my items, quickly sorted through me and 4 other people and I was able to sell, thank goodness. This was my first time selling at Plato's and Never coming to...
Read moreI absolutely hate coming to platos closet.. any excuse not to look at your clothes.. meanwhile everything on your rack looks like stuff that you shouldn't have bought..
I come in to sell, you say you cant go through my suitcase, but you watched me walk in with and and said it's fine.. then you say it had an odor, probably because its been sitting there for a while.. meanwhile I just put those clothes and shoes in the suitcase this morning, and everythinghas been washed. also, If I can come back with more easily accessible bags.. they would be happy to look at it..
I hate coming to platos they never take anything, and then if you have too much.. they dont want to look in it.. the manager tells me the suitcase took up their whole counter, but you watched me walk in and seen me, I asked the girl was it okay..
And then didnt even text and say it was done, I had to call to get an update.. the manager on the phone tried to talk over me.. the first girl on the phone said they couldn't go through it or get into the suitcase, but then the manager said they could. I get home and the clothes were in the same position I had them in.. you didnt even attempt to go through the clothes..
My best friend's closet didnt seem to mind my other suitcase I brought in to them to look through.. I will never...

Edit: taking a star off after looking more closely at the other reviews. This place truly has a horrible business model imo. They are literally directly across the street from the mall so if you are a younger person looking for "current" fashion clothes just go to the clearance section at your favorite store in the mall, trust me you will find much cuter clothes for a much more reasonable price. If you are trying to thrift in any way do NOT go here, go to literally any thrift store on broadway! Or even better drive an extra 15 minutes down Bowles and go to The Loop!
I was definitely surprised by the selection when I looked around, very one "style" and very cheap fast fashion clothes that imo are not discounted properly so you are overpaying here.
No wonder my good condition fashion staples were rejected lol they literally only want size small shein clothes they can upcharge. Save your money and time and go some place else
Also I was joking, but actually the way employees here feel comfortable insulting people is deeply unprofessional and...
