Sadly, my recent visit to this theater was quite underwhelming. Parking is hassle and you wonât get a street parking near the movie theater. Not sure when these spots get filled. It feels like they are always parked. While thereâs a nearby plaza, it might fill up quickly. If you miss a spot there, youâll likely end up walking quite a bit, which isnât ideal.
I went on a Tuesday, thinking the slightly cheaper tickets would make it a good deal. Instead, it felt overcrowded and chaotic. The food court area was overwhelmed, with painfully long lines just to get basic snacks like popcorn and drinks. And to make it worse, the popcorn tasted terrible. It tasted horrible and my family had an upset stomach afterward.
Inside the theater, the experience didnât get any better. The sound system felt offâalmost like the speakers were broken or poorly tuned. Dialogue wasnât clear, and the overall audio quality ruined the immersion. The seating arrangement was also a letdown. Iâm of average height and always sit near the last row at most theaters without any issue, but here the screen view was blocked by people sitting in front of me. The screen angle and layout just donât work well, making it hard to enjoy the movie.
Given how few theater options we have in the Tri-Valley area, itâs disappointing that this one doesnât deliver. We desperately need a quality movie experience here something like an AMC would be a huge improvement. I wonât be coming back. Between the parking, crowds, poor sound, and lack of enforcement on food policies, itâs just not worth your time and money!!
Note: Donât go here on a Tuesday even if you decide to go. It really feels like a...
Read moreMy wife and I used to love this theater but the past few visits were not great. Starting with the good - The staff is still very friendly and the theater is clean. They say they have electronic reclining seats and ACTUALLY have them!
Where things have started falling short though is in the last 3 movies weâve gone to in the past 6 months. One movie, the theater was so cold my wife and I huddled up and even pulled our arms inside our T-shirts and up over our mouths to try and capture our warm breath. I went to the lobby and complained and was told someone would fix it, but no one did. We joked with several other couples about how we could hang meat!
The next time, the theater was so hot that we were sweating. Same thing, went and complained and got promised they would fix it. The funny thing is the guy at the front desk bragged that they had just gotten their A/C fixed that week!
The last time, just 4 days ago, the theater was warm but worse, the sound was awful! The sound only came from the center channel at the screen and sounded like the speaker was blown - crackling at certain frequencies. I complained that it wasnât loud enough and that none of the surround speakers were working. The guy I spoke to said he would take care of it⌠maybe, maybe, he turned up the volume a bit, but when you have to wonder, it isnât enough. And still only sound from the center speaker.
Itâs a shame because this is my favorite theater in the area. My wife is thinking we stop going to this theater because of the consistently bad recent...

Cinema 13 â Livermore (Auditorium 2, July 20, 2025, 7:00 PM) âď¸ 1 out of 5
I went to see the Superman movie at Cinema 13 in Livermore with my pregnant wife and niece, and it was one of the most uncomfortable and frustrating movie experiences weâve had.
Unbearably Hot Theater There was no air conditioning in the auditorium. It was so hot that I was sweating the entire time â and more importantly, it caused real stress to my pregnant wife. A movie theater should be a place of comfort, not a health risk. For what they charge, working AC is the bare minimum.
Poor Seating Design The seats donât recline and have no leg rest. Even worse, the back of the seat is spring-loaded, so unless you constantly push back, it snaps upright. It was nearly impossible to relax or enjoy the film.
Overpriced, Low-Quality Concessions We paid $30 for just two sodas and a popcorn, and the Coca-Cola was completely flat. When I asked about combo options (not discounts), the staff rudely dismissed me, saying, âIt doesnât matter â no discounts.â Multiple employees were grouped at the front, uninterested in helping or explaining anything.
Overall: Hot, overpriced, uncomfortable, and rude service. This experience was unacceptable, especially considering the price tag. We wonât be returning until Cinema 13 addresses its customer service and basic facility...
