Charles Custom Dinettes — Local services in Lombard

From the outside, you would not think that Charles Custom Dinettes would have what we were looking for to furnish a brand new modern kitchen/dining room remodel. I WAS SO WRONG!!

Originally, we saw our furniture at a high end furniture store not too far from CCD. I was ready to order it when my husband suggested we check out CCD. Talked to Steve and he pointed us to what we were looking for. There were the counter stools and dining room table and chairs we wanted. They were the brand and models we saw at the other store. CCD actually had the finish and top samples in full size versus the swatch colors from the other place. (This was a life saver!! We almost selected from the small swatches something that was way too shiny and a color that would not have matched our decor!!)

But wait, there's more!! Not only did we get to see, feel and touch the actual products, but the price Steve quoted us was $4,000 less than the other store. One more thing...this was Nov 11 and Steve said we will have it by Christmas while the chain store said it will take 16 weeks!! Steve delivered both figuratively and literally!!!

I bought a table from him last year and was guaranteed that I would not have an issue with the legs of the table loosening up and falling off. I gave him a call to let him know that the legs of the table had looseand up and were falling off and he told me that table legs just don't fall off and that he doesn't know what the table is being used for. I told him that the table is being used to eat on like any other normal table and he told me that it would be a $45 service charge to come out and look at the table. I paid $800 for this table and will never shop with him again. He is a liar and doesn't back up his guarantees.

He didn't say anything about an invoice until I called him back and asked him if he had the receipt because I couldn't find it. Charles told me that he doesn't keep record of sales in a computer, that he can only look up receipts by the invoice number. That doesn't even make since because anything can happen as to where a receipt may be misplaced, such as moving. Initially Charles told me to bring the table to him like I'm able to haul a table in my car. Also, why would I take the screws out of my table to have a table fall on my children or myself, that sounds...

I drive by this dinette store a lot, and my husband and I finally went in yesterday 2/22/15 to buy 2 stools for my eat in kitchen for my kids. We found a stool we liked that was 100 bucks but the catalogue discontinued it, boo. But it worked out because we bought a way nicer stool, the one we really liked the best, but it was 145 per stool. There were a couple of stools that were nice but they were 129ish and we spent the extra money to get the stools we liked best. We were able to buy the one on the floor and pick up the second one the next day, (that is today 2/23/15). We paid a flat 300 for both stools. I didn't have to assemble anything. Pros -Fast friendly service -Good selection on floor and catalogues to sift through if need be -Nice quality furniture -No assembly required unless you want to pay a little less and don't mind a little DIY Cons My only con would be I didn't want to spend that much but the quality and style is worth the price.
