TRU Bowl Superfood Bar Long Beach — Local services in Long Beach

I paid $16 dollars (after tip) for a medium sized bowl. As I was placing the lid on the bowl, the plastic bowl cracked on the side and started spilling. Not ideal but no big deal, I’ll just ask for an empty plastic bowl to put under my broken one! When I went up to the front I explained that my bowl had cracked and was spilling, and I requested an empty plastic container to replace my cracked one. The workers denied me an empty plastic bowl, stating that if I wanted one I had to pay $1 for it. An empty plastic bowl????? After I just paid $16 for ONE medium bowl? I literally said “are you serious?” And the team member said “yes you have to pay a dollar for an empty bowl” when she literally saw my other bowl was cracked and my food was spilling. How disappointing that one of my favorite spots is now a business I will not be returning to due to their lack of costumer care. The plastic bowl is no where near the cost of $1 yet I was going to be charged for?? How sad and pathetic. The saddest part is that those team members are making the company look cheap, greedy and inconsiderate. I discovered Tru Bowl this past summer, and it has been my go-to spot for acai. I always get the medium Custom Craft Bowl (built-your-own + unlimited toppings). The combination I stick to is:

Bases: acai, ube, blue majik, and maple cold oats

Granola: cocoa chia

Fruits: banana and strawberry

Dry toppings: pumpkin seeds, goji berries, and honey drizzle

I find this combo refreshing, not too sweet or sour for my liking. I recently tried the blend High Tide. I thought it was really sweet. I don't recommend it to people who don't like coconut since the taste of coconut was quite strong.

Overall, I recommend trying different items on their menu or playing around with the combos for the customizable bowl. The medium and large bowls are good...

July 2025 update-they changed the menu and no longer have my favorite items so I lno longer go.

2nd visit update- bowl was fantastic too. Very filling, a full meal.

Absolutely delicious, so excited about this place. Was in the center today for an errand and decided to go in, best thing I did all day. I got the dragon slayer, it’s outstanding. Can’t wait to go back tomorrow
