For Hobby stores, this Hobby Lobby tends to have the majority of things that I would be looking for. There has only been a select few items that I haven't really been able to find in store, which from a source perspective is really great. My real issue with this is really the pricing on some things. I understand that they run a ton of sales and now have the 40% off coupon, but most of the basic items are just really overpriced across the board.
Very specialized items I can see being able to charge a premium for given the supply/demand architecture, but the common items like glue, foam, balsa wood, etc. Should not be at a nearly 300% markup compared to competitors and online. My other real complaint is that if you really look at the store as a whole, nearly 50% of it isn't even filled with hobby related items. Its just decor. The actual Hobby sections are in the back forcing you to travel through a sea of home decor before getting to the hobby materials you're looking for.
As far as the actual store goes in terms of cleanliness and organization, I would say that this is kept pretty clean given its traffic, and although filled with random items, it is still very organized by hobby type, which for the things you do want, it is relatively easy to find and see what they have.
From my experiences, the staff is kind of hit or miss. There have been some really good employees that take the time and care about helping and doing their job (fabrics, frames, etc) and sometimes it feels like youre just a burden to them, which I guess is just inherent in retail nowdays, but they can do a little bit more to hide their annoyance. I'd rather have them tell me they can't help and will get someone who can, then to act like they can and then walk 10 miles around in the store while they try to find something they don't know where it is.
Overall, I don't know I guess its a good Hobby Store if you have some cash to burn, and don't mind paying a premium for non premium items after you voyage the sea of home decor. The staff will usually help and you don't really have to worry about touching spills and messes, it's kept...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSeems like this Hobby Loobby swapped out fluorescent bulbs for LEDs but without installing proper AC to DC power conversion (or vice versa) ā the overhead lighting all visibly flickers so if you have someone who struggles with migraines, a seizure disorder, or is just a human being with eyes ā do not bring them here as the flickering will trigger an episode. Even if youāre an able bodied person with no known medical issues, the light flickering may trigger nausea and vomiting. A huge lawsuit waiting to happen.
The staff here all seemed so very friendly but there were only two people working in the entire store. I saw elderly employees and employees with disabilities running all around the store trying to serve customers. When I asked about it, they remained professional but they were so frazzled from the pressure and cruelty of management. Even as I was being helped, the manager was getting on their case for them to hurry on the front to get on the register. Iām sure this person could see that I was in the middle of being assisted.
If Hobby Lobby is your go-to, thereās a much nicer one on I-25 near Centerra that has none of these. headaches or employee abuse factors.
Everything about this place made me want to get out as fast as possible and not spend money there. The items for sale all feel dirty and gross to the touch, like theyāre also not hiring cleaning crews at night to also cheap out. Thereās no water or drinks for sale. Another strange and lazy managerial choice.
I suppose it could be a regional manager issue, but since the one in Weld county doesnāt have these issues, Iād put my money on it being local.
I also didnāt feel safe in the parking...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreso I have no desire to pick a part of business based on their politics. I don't think it's really the place of the consumer to judge a business based on some simple little choice they've made, and a little bit of critical thinking to let you know that a lot of times those kind of campaigns are just character assassination or or corporate assassinationof some kind because every single corporation America has made incredibly on PC choices in their voting and in their legislation at some point. It's just the ones that get highlighter to the ones you another company is trying to take out of business. So I do not care one iota for the way the hobby lobby may or may not have voted in the past. What I do care about is if there is never anything on their shelves, they clearly mistreat all their employees, they overwork them, they match up their schedule so they're not able to get a better job or a second job, they change schedules at the last second so that people that don't want to work there anymore can automatically have a don't call don't show because they didn't know the schedule had changed in the last 24 hours, and it's just a terrible place to work. Really as far as getting stuff for hobbies and crafts is concernedwant to just go somewhere where they actually have things on the shelf in the staff somewhat care is? I mean I'm not trying to say that the staff at Michaels has any less of the Dead fish eyeball thing going on, but definitely at hobby lobby they seem to have a thousand yard stare, and man the old ladies with the coupons browbeating those people at the counter that is just sad. Leave the workers alone they're doing a great job it's the...
