Edit: decided to give it another shot yesterday 12/13/23 because I had a movie to see. Hesitant to order to go so I waited after my weekly meeting to dine-in. I also finally got a reply to my email and the refund for the missing baklava from my previous experience was in process. This time I ordered a mixed meat gyro and asked if they could sub the normal fries that are inside of it with the sweet potato fries. I also ordered the baklava.
The fries must be premade in batches, but not kept in some heat lamp or whatever restaurant use to keep fries warm because they were room temp again. This is my first time having a gyro and it was barely warm. Baklava was okay, it's kept cold, however I'm used to eating baklava room temp that usually has a crisp to it.
.................. The first time I ate at this place was Nov 30, 23. I ate in, and ordered a Street Cart Doner Wrap. After you place your order with the cashier at the counter, they give you a number on a stand and you find a spot to sit. They'll bring the food to you. It looked absolutely appealing and was hot and delicious! I was delighted and excited a spot like this opened up in Longmont. I was a little confused about what to do with my finished tray, as there didn't seem to be any spots where you put your trash and tray back, so I just left it at the table.
Told a friend that I was going to try some more stuff here like the wings, and hope Spitz will stick around since it hit my Med food spot (there used to be a Garbanzos at the Village at the Peaks). I know there are Garbanzos elsewhere and I've also had CAVA which was great, but neither are in Longmont, so I thought this was going to be my go to spot!
Well yesterday 12/07/23, I thought to myself I'm going to get an order to go for dinner before my meeting! I was located in Erie and I went to the website to put an order for half order of wings & mixed fries, and a baklava. I don't normally order dessert when I order an entree, so I was looking forward to trying the baklava. I placed the order at 16:18 to be picked up at 17:00. I got there at 16:56 and it was ready, I drove away with delight, ready to dig in the moment I got to my destination which was less than 10 minutes away.
I parked, ripped the bag apart, grabbed the napkins and tossed them aside, and looked for the baklava which I had expected to be on top of the main box... well it wasn't. So I took out the only box that was in there which was oddly not warm at all, thinking maybe okay... okay... maybe they put it on the bottom or somehow everything was all in one box. There wasn't any other box, so I opened the one box and it was my order of wings and fries, with the two sauces that came with it. I took out the sauce cups out and placed my fingers in to move the fries and wings around thinking the baklava was just buried in there with everything, but it wasn't there.
I wasn't expecting the wings and fries to be hot, but there was not even some residual warmth left. It's as if it was prepped immediately after I had put my order it back at 16:18 and it had been sitting on a counter until I got there. I begrudgingly ate my wings and fries. After I was finished, I wrote an email via the website, and replied back to the email they send to you for feedback after you "dig in" to let them know about my disappointing experience and asked for refund for the missing baklava, but have not had a response as of yet.
I do not recommend putting an online order to go, unless you are going to leave where ever you are immediately and can get there fairly soon after you put your order in. I suppose I would also advise you to check your bag and make sure its correct before leaving so you don't end up with a disheartening surprise of something you ordered is not in your bag. A couple of my other friends also had an order to go a while back and said it was incorrect and the food was dry and the meat was the wrong kind, so I'm not sure if there is some sort of issue with how their online order system works.
If you want to give Spitz a try, I recommend...
Read moreHad been meaning to stop by and it was easy to find next to the movie theaters.
On first impression everything started great. The place is lively decorated, cashier was welcoming upon entering, tables are cleaned quickly food came out surprisingly fast. I read another reviewer thay complained about food being cold ordered 1 hr ahead. At most theyll take 10-15 min before its ready so was surprisingly quick service; wouldn't suggest you order more than 20min prior To your arrival.
Anyways all was smooth i was starring to think order would take long after ordering at counter but was 5-7min max for a street cart wrap and fries.
I enjoyed the food and it was very fresh and tasty surprisingly more filling than expected.
My experience had been perfect until this point. It was until i decided to order to go to have other try it. I came to register different cashier was there didn't seem to happy to take order and even less when decided to change order while i was ordering. While i can understand your annoyance to a degree and i was aware a crowd started arriving it seems cashier was upset taking my to go order based on what i peeceived from her demeanor.
She took few customers orders after seemed more friendly at least seemed was trying. She left right after taking those orders must of been her end of shift at 540pm .
Anyways would have been perfect experience except the corrected order was incorrect. There were no sauces as it was a togo order i assumed sauces would be provided as was included with my eating in order.
Ordered 2 different types of meats and order while wraps were different both were beef and not chicken amd the other beef.
Emd of shift or not i would expect same service consistantly not based on whether you feel you should no longer be there.
The rest of the staff was friendly each one going about doing their tasks drinks, orders, clearing tables etc.
I am glad to have something differrent available and sure hope this staff member is able to develop a beter work ethic and customer service.
I may return but it...
Read moreThis is a Tragic Mediterranean Experience
I recently ordered takeout from what I can only describe as a culinary disaster masquerading as a mediterranean restaurant.
Let’s begin with the so-called "Doner salad." Upon opening the container, I was greeted with a mountain of Costco-grade iceberg lettuce, 95 percent of it, to be exact. To add insult to injury, there were a grand total of two Kalamata olives nestled within that bland, uninspired sea of lettuce. Not a banana pepper or cucumber to be found either. I had specifically requested that the falafel be served on the side of the salad, but apparently, this simple task was too much to handle. No falafel to be found. I’m guessing it was left on the counter in the kitchen with the lemon herb tahini dressing.
Next up, the Mediterranean falafel wraps. I was met with another avalanche of more iceberg lettuce stuffed into the wraps. Two barely noticeable falafel were mixed in, zero olives or cucumbers. If I had wanted lettuce wrapped in a tortilla, I could have made that at home for a fraction of the price!
How can a Mediterranean restaurant neglect to include the essentials of its cuisine?
In summary, this place is the epitome of disappointment. I would liken it to the expensive McDonald’s of Mediterranean restaurants—lots of filler, minimal flavor, and a hefty price tag for what you get. If you're looking for authentic Greek cuisine, do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place. Save your money and...
