Iâm glad that Longmont finally has a Chinese restaurant that comes close to the authentic experience and taste.
Food: all you can eat hot pot, $29.99 for adults. The portion sizes are very interesting (like 1 portion of beef is a whole plate but 1 portion of mussels is 2 mussels), so if you arenât sure about the portion you can always start with 1 per whatever youâd like, and you can always add more portions later on to avoid wasting food. Compared to the more conventional hotpot place you can find in big cities, the food selection is not a lot, but for Longmont, itâs probably enough. You do see beef tripes (must try) and Chinese vegetables, some of which you canât even buy at local grocery stores. I can assure you that you will eat to your satisfaction.
Spicy cucumbers: this one reminds me of how my grandmother makes it, but with more sesame/sha cha sauce. Itâs quite authentic. Def recommend trying even if itâs not included in the all you can eat price.
Soup base: you can choose a range of spicy and non spicy soups. Not sure if itâs all vegan but definitely has vegetarian options. The soup has then comes with like one green onion base inside, and I wished they had a bit more stuff in the soup base for the taste. However you do get to take some green onion and cilantro from the topping section if you want a bit more flavor for the soup.
Topping: a large selection of toppings, standard for any Chinese hotpot place.
Dessert: they have vanilla and strawberry ice cream and some cakes. These taste exactly like what theyâre supposed to taste like. Also âfreeâ and unlimited (included in your hotpot price).
Atmosphere and mode: Interesting restaurant layout, but maybe because they opened only recently? Itâs a very spacious place but maybe because of that the tables look too far apart from each other. Also, my pet peeve is that a conventional Chinese hotpot is actually a huge pot shared by the table, but this place made it so that each person has their own small pot. That seems like a choice to cater to, well, people who arenât used to sharing for the table, but I guess it makes sense for a city like Longmont. I think if you want to try out hotpot for the first time, this place makes a lot of sense as you just need to mind your own pot instead of for the entire table. I donât know if the small pot contributes to the saltiness as time goes on. Even when more soup is added, I still feel like it got more salty.
Anyways, Iâd recommend this place if youâre new to hotpot. If youâre Chinese then this place is average, but good enough in Boulder...

âââââ
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hotpot City in Longmont, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish!
First and foremost, the food was absolutely delicious. The variety of fresh ingredients available for the hotpot was impressive, and everything was of the highest quality. From the tender meats to the vibrant vegetables, each bite was bursting with flavor. The broth options were diverse, catering to all taste preferences, and I loved being able to customize my meal to my liking.
The service at Hotpot City was equally commendable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, making great recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our meal. They truly made us feel welcome and valued as customers.
As a family-friendly restaurant, Hotpot City is perfect for dining with kids. The interactive nature of hotpot dining kept my children engaged and excited about their meal. They loved picking out their ingredients and watching them cook right at the table. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, making it a great spot for families to enjoy a meal together.
Overall, I highly recommend Hotpot City to anyone in Longmont looking for a delicious dining experience. With its fantastic food, excellent service, and kid-friendly environment, it's a place we will definitely be...
Read moreGlad that it wasn't too busy when we went. I always have to travel at least 25 min out for Hot Pot, so I'm happy this place exists now.
The renovations look great and staff was very quick and helpful. Always had an attentive waiter who would ask if we'd like more broth.
I think my only comment is on the food. I had the TomYum broth and it didn't taste much like tomyum. I expect a more sour, seafood flavored soup, but there was kind of an overpowering flavor of bone/meat from what I assume is just the regular base broth. Highly recommend experimenting with it to make it taste more like authentic tomyum. On a similar note, my friend got the Thai tea and she thinks it tasted too bland/watered down. Additionally, I think the condiment section could use more choices for making your own custom dip (sesame seeds, fried crispy garlic, dried chilis etc).
The selection of food is good though. I like that there are so many varieties of veggies, meat, seafood and noodles. (Please get quail eggs if you can!) Also, a big fan of the desert options.
Overall, I would try again. I might do a different...
