Always love to check out new places in town so my partner and I decided to check this out today. The tldr is this: It's fantastic.
We walked in and were immediately greeted by one of the owners, Justin who went over the concept, the menu, and more as we continued to chat. Obviously really passionate about the business and their vision for its future and continued growth. We don't have any allergies but the menu was also very friendly to variations for GF/V/VG folk.
We ended up ordering quite a bit!
The Eridu salad was fresh, well dressed, and very flavorful. The mix of grains and vegetables was on point and very satisfying. Would be happy having this for lunch all the time.
We also had the biscuits and gravy (sweet and spicy maple bourbon gravy) which was indeed sweet and spicy (and delicious). The gravy portion is very generous and on the side, so we have plenty to use for breakfast tomorrow.
Now, we have to talk about the Cuban. The Cuban has become a popular sandwich over the last few years that has found its way onto menus across the states, from local joints to Subway. And in my opinion is often disappointing. So much so that I was pretty sure I didn't actually like Cubans. But my girlfriend likes them so we got one. Let me tell you, I'm a believer again. To the whole grain mustard, the house pickles, the pressed roll, all really great. The real star to me though is the roasted pork, the kind of pork you can taste time of the render all the way though. It's legit.
I also want to give a shout out to Michi's Cakes for the brownie we got (available here). Huge brownie, decadent without being tooth shatteringly sweet, great chew. All in all this is my kind of brownie, and I'm not usually a big sweets guy.
They have a few seats but they seem mostly setup for takeout right now. Also might be a little hard to see from the road but they are directly across the street from the Cheba Hut if you're having trouble finding it.
But yea, overwhelmingly positive review, will absolutely return. If you're reading this, I...
Read morehad Justin as a personal chef on a retreat and I’m so thankful we did! I was nervous about the options that would be available because although I have no allergies, I can sometimes be a bit difficult when it comes to what I want to eat. Justin left ZERO room for difficult. There were DELICIOUS options for everyone!! And the night he had lamb chops I literally had to call my mom and tell her how outrageously fantastic they were but could barely tell her because I was too busy stuffing my face every second I could get. Extremely accommodating. Beyond personable. Superb food!...
Read morefantastic. we loved what we got: The Basic AF, Cuban Sandwich, and a drink each. i really enjoyed the butternut squash marmalade that came with my meal, and the plantains that came with my bf's. the meals were more than enough food for us, i had to get a to go box. with these 2 meals and 2 drinks our total before tip was about 30ish and some change. cute little place, fun art to look at (or buy!) all around. they have compostable cutlery too! and the guy (one of the owners) who served us was super friendly. really pleasant experience. you should absolutely...
