Valor Peak Distillery — Local services in Longmont

Yesterday, my friend and I stopped by this distillery—20 minutes before opening—on a rainy afternoon. The door was open. We politely asked if we could come inside to sit and wait, making it clear we wouldn’t order until opening.

What we received in return was nothing short of appalling. The man working there didn’t just say “no”—he was brusque, dismissive, and made it abundantly clear we were unwelcome. We even offered to sit quietly, out of the way, but were told to leave and come back later. His tone and manner were uncalled for, especially toward two well-dressed, respectful seniors who posed no disruption.

This was not just bad service—it was a complete failure of hospitality. We left and will never return. Ownership should understand that one staff member’s arrogance and lack of basic courtesy has cost them our business permanently. We will share this experience widely, and will not recommend their venue or their products to anyone.

Thank you for your quick and sincere reply. I understand there may be pre-opening procedures that must be followed, but those do not require guests to be addressed in a curt or dismissive manner. Our frustration was not with being asked to return later, but with the tone and approach taken in delivering that message.

I appreciate you taking this seriously and addressing it with your team. While we have not decided whether we will return, your response gives us reason to believe the experience might be different in the future.

A must-visit distillery! We’re visiting from out of town and stopped into Valor Peak Distillery right before closing for a quick drink. We told the bartender we were happy to leave if he needed to close up, but instead, he welcomed us in with such warmth. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was by far the best whiskey I’ve had out of all the distilleries in the area. Benji was an incredible bartender! He was very knowledgeable, intrinsically creative and cheerfully sociable with all of his customers; we were no exception. Everything tasted delicious and was a delight to sample. He also handled a Saturday night alone with deft precision and equal attention to everyone inside, while still giving us a personal and frankly very fun experience with him as a person.
