So, my husband and I found this place coming from Berthoud. We LOVE good tacos so we were excited. The food was decently good, and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The 3rd time we went in, it was my son’s 1st birthday and we wanted to get some tacos and go to a park near by. The man who took my order (he had a facial piercing, I think a dermal near his eye) was EXTREMELY rude. He took my order and I saw him pouring my horchata into a glass. I had then said, “oh sorry, it’s supposed to be to go” as he never asked if it was to go or not. He then gets very snarky and says “you should have f’ing said that before I put the order in”. This response was just so wild to me as I’ve never had someone be so rude while at a restaurant. It was HIS job to ask me if it was for here or to go. And then he was VERY rude for no reason. This place is counter service, not a sit down restaurant. It would be very different if we were sitting at a table and our server brought us our food and I said it was actually for to go.
I wasn’t going to order, I actually asked for my money back after that encounter my we already had our heart set on tacos so I decided to order but with the manager instead. The manager did not apologize, all he said was it was a misunderstanding. It clearly was not a misunderstanding, your worker was very, very rude for no reason, and something that was HIS job.
This actually happened the evening of august 5th, almost a month ago. I’ve debated on posting this review but I’ve decided it’s warranted and we will be finding a new taco place. I’ve posted about this encounter on a Longmont community Facebook page with a couple thousand people and over 50 of them said I should leave a review and most of them said they won’t be coming back, either. It was just a very uncalled for experience and it really sucks that someone with 0 hospitality...
Read moreLook, if you live in Longmont and you aren’t hitting up Summit, I don’t know what you’re doing with yourself. This is THE SPOT. The vibe, the flavors, the people; everything is en pointe. And Summit is always bringing the party with drag shows, live music, game nights, and even pro wrestling shows in the summer!
The back patio/garden area is amazing for private events. We hosted the most epic birthday party here and the team was amazing to work with when it came to coordinating our event and everything was absolutely perfect on the day. I was able to kick back and enjoy myself on the day of, which can be hard when you’re hosting.
I actually like that they keep their menu tight and straightforward, rather than tedious and overwrought like many other places who trying to do too much and end up doing nothing that great. They know what they’re about- they do what they do and do it well. And as a regular, I never get bored because they always have delicious rotating seasonal selections.
The owner is a gem, and you can tell because the turnover in staff is low and there‘s always familiar friendly faces when I come in. There are certain (prominent) places in Longmont that I refuse to patronize, not because the restaurant is bad per se, but because I know the owners are assholes and I don’t want to give them my money. You vote for what kind of community you want to be a part of with where you spend your coin, and I will continue to vote for Summit all the time. Taco Tuesday = happy hour all day. 4 tacos + 1 beer for $10 is just good math, best deal in town. And as a Horchata connoisseur, I can confidently say that theirs is absolutely the best around. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk. Go to...
Read moreDuring my lunch break, I came to this establishment with my crew for lunch since we read so many great reviews online. We also looked at a menu and the food sounded delicious. When we arrived it looked like a very nice establishment. It has beautiful decor, great music, and looked very clean. However once we went to place our order the person who took it was rude. The customer service was not the best. I’m not sure if maybe he was just not having a good day but don’t take it out on your customers. Honestly that just killed it for me. First time and last time visiting this place. The food is also VERY overly priced and had little to no flavor. The bean soup is not bean soup, it was refried beans. For $6.00 might as well buy a bunch of cans of refried beans. We also ordered a rajas taco, it was not a a rajas taco. It had no poblano pepper it was Serrano or jalapeño, no flavor! The nopales on the nopales tacos also tastes like they were store bought Jar nopales. The salsas which are red and green had no flavor, no taste, no spice at all! We aIso got the picadillo tacos which has potatoes, they were so hard! The tortillas didn’t taste or look home made either, each taco only comes with one so they kept falling apart. Overall like I said it’s a beautiful establishment, but at the end of the day that only...
