I ordered a tool chest/workbench combo from Home Depot with the $79 delivery fee as it was low stock at my preferred location. The schedule date started out as being the next day (a Friday), then changed to Saturday and then I got a call that it was now going to be delivered Monday. This was super inconvenient as I took a long weekend to do some spring cleaning and sort my tools/garage. And I would have to take the day off work to be present for delivery, not because I chose a signature requirement but because I wanted to be home to bring the chest in asap, I really didn't want a $700 item just sitting outside my house, I live next to a highway and my property is visible from the road. Anyway, I called in and Ivan helped me out. He explained that they had to change the type of truck that was delivering the bench because the other style that the system chose always causes damage to the wheels and they didn't want it to arrive damaged. There was really no way to get the date changed as the box truck doesn't even run on weekends. Without me asking or really pushing, Ivan offered to call his supervisor to see what other options there might be. He let me know his supervisor authorized Ivan to reimburse the $79 delivery fee because it was a very unfortunate situation and I could keep the Monday delivery or come pick it up myself. Ivan really went above and beyond to alleviate the frustration of this situation and I appreciate the level of care...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered my doors to be measured in Longview Washington by someone from Home Depot. The contractor was sent out and he did a good job he measured the doors recommended that I do certain things with the doors which was helpful. This vendor was not part of Home Depot though. He told me somebody would call me immediately the next day. Nobody ever called me. I waited several days and finally a woman from the Home Depot in Longview Washington called me from the door section. I told her Iād like to wait she said I had 60 days to use themIām not sure what that really meant. I then decided I would go into the Home Depot in Longview Washington and check out the doors. When I went in nobody was there in the door area nobody could find anybody that knew anything about doors and actually the only thing I really wanted was the measurements to my door since I already paid the $40. Nobody could help me. I then called the next day and left her a message. She never ever called me back. I then asked to speak with a manager who claimed he would email me the measurements. They never came. I thenIn Atlanta Georgia the email they give you online is incorrect. The number I called told me to call back later. So the $40 I spent on the measurements for the door weāre for no good reason because I never ever got the measurements to my doors back. I now am trying to fight Home Depot in Longview Washington for the measurements...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have shopped here now about two dozen times. With maybe two or three exceptions, each time I get home and open a package, something is wrong. Usually, it's missing parts because somebody either brought it home, removed pieces, and returned it, or somebody removed pieces in the store and resealed the packages. Everything from missing screws to a missing shelf in a cabinet I bought. Also, don't expect things to be where they're supposed to be. Twice now I've found myself grabbing several of the same item, only to get home and realize that no, I only brought home two boxes of 1 1/2" screws because there were two boxes of 2" screws in the same stack and I wasn't paying close enough attention to realize it. I have never shopped at a Home Depot where I have consistently needed to return items because of missing parts. I know Longview is a poor community and is prone to crime, but it's reached a point where I avoid shopping here if I can.
However, I've found the staff to be more helpful than other Home Depots.
Tip: If you want wood cut at the back cutting station, just call the customer service desk. Typically, there aren't any employees nearby and even if you find one and they call it in over the radio, you don't always get...
