Smith's Pharmacy — Local services in Los Alamos

I'm writing this review for the pharmacy located in White Rock, NM. First off let me say, the young lady that came to the window was hostile, rude, and plain dumb. I handed her a prescription for my dog from his vet in Albuquerque. She looked at it with such earnest confusion, I was taken aback and thought, 'had I handed her the wrong paper?' She then glared at me and said she would not give me the prescription because it didn't say how it was supposed to be taken. The tone of her voice held such indignation that I was again taken aback. 'Had the vet forgotten to include that info?' I thought to myself. I later studied the prescription and it clearly stated that the drug was supposed to be taken "orally." Did she even look at the paper? She handed me the paper back and she was literally shaking with anger. Again, I was confused. She was acting as if I was some crack addict about to jump over the divider and raid all the pill I could carry. In her small little mind I was a terrible, awful person and she was a hero. She didn't let me explain or point out the number on the bottom of the prescription. She kept cutting me off. There is no shadow of customer service here. The sheer incompetence is astounding. I pray no one has an emergency and need to go here because chances are that person may die if this...

The staff at Smith's Pharmacy is excellent. I know some people are inconvenienced by the lack of personnel, changes in hours, and long lines. I spent close to an hour in line today, the entire time I listened to people complain, while the staff worked their tails off to fill orders and serve customers, the entire time wearing a real smile and having a friendly greeting. The Pharmacy Staff are all very dedicated and helpful. I understand that some medications are of the utmost urgency to have, immediately. I also know that if you make a polite and understanding phone call to the Pharmacy, they will do their level best to meet your requirements. KUDOs to the staff for helping grumpy, ill, and rude people all day and keep smiling. It takes real dedication to the customers of the Pharmacy to care this much for all their clients.

Some staff are friendly some do not care if they are rude or not.. this pharmacy is one of the very few that accepts my insurance, and a certain medication I take, I need is a lifesaving medication and it's never in stock.. this is the third month in a row that this has happened. So I ordered a refill through the app, it said it'll be ready today by 11. I went in and the lady i forget her name otherwise I would happily publicly publish it, due to her rude, condescending tone, said its not in stock and sent me on my way.. so I asked when it would be available, she says tomorrow, around what time I asked, as she was already annoyed she looked at the computer and guessed 3 o'clock.. I can promise tomorrow I'll go at 4 o'clock and I'll be told it's not in... they could have given me a phone call to say it wasn't in or some communication... nothing will be done about this.. so hopefully this...
