Eyelash Extensions — Local services in Los Angeles

I live local, pre-booked and pre-paid my appointment, showed up on time, and to may own dismay was stood up. Something very important to know is there was no employee in the waiting area, but the front door was unlocked. I said “hello” to see if anyone was in the place, and it felt like a ghost town. Finally someone walked in, but it was another customer. She said she was here for an appointment, and I said “me too”. Luckily her employee showed up, and I asked that employee when I could be checked in, and her answer was “someone had a last minute emergency.” The employee then gave me the number of her boss and another number for the studio. I called both numbers. I tried several more times, about 10 to be exact, as I was in dismay. No one answered, AND both voicemail inboxes were full, so I could not leave a voice message to try to get a response. It turned from me wanting to be serviced to suddenly feeling, “Is this place a scam?” I sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes, and the person who was supposed to attend to me apparently never showed up. I decided to leave. I am writing an hour after my appointment. They have still not contacted me. I kid you not, “Do not go here.” They took my pre-paid money, and there is no one answering the phones. I am not the type of person to be confrontational. Transparently speaking, I am in shock. This place must be a scam. I cannot think of any reasonable explanation at this point for a place that will take your money and then never return a call or give you what you paid for. I been coming here for months and was mostly happy and would have kept coming if it wasn’t for the bait and switch I just experienced. Made an appointment for the same services I’ve been getting for months lash fill and brow lamination . Went to my appointment and after my fill I’m informed that the lamination is now basically double the price and if I’d still like to do it. Excuse me! Can you say bait and switch? I don’t care the reason for your increase which is astronomical , but it’s something you’d tell me before I make an appointment, not during the appointment. Once she saw how upset I was she offered to do it one time for the price I’d been paying but I refused because I don’t want someone who doesn’t want to work on me putting chemicals on my face. That being said I won’t be returning to here on principle. On a side note, tnis industry has jumped the shark with the prices they’re charging. It’s no wonder I keep seeing videos of lash and brow techs complaining of slow business. People don’t have this kind of money to plop down monthly for beauty services with the cost of everything else being so high for you to act so flippant about doubling the price of a service.
