This is what LA has been missing in my observation. In NYC they call them “junk shops” Filled with treasures, plus any household items you might need, cookware, small appliances, kitchen wares, dishes cups etc. plus clothes, think thrift shop. Plus a huge assortment of nicer collectibles in cases, this place it PACKED. I’m sure whatever you’re looking for is there. I wasn’t looking for anything but came out with a vintage pocket knife and metal cased measuring tape for $15 which is a good deal for these nicely made tools. If I had more time I’d go back with a black light and hunt for uranium glass and other treasures.
Rick is a character to say the least, it was an absolute pleasure and honor to meet him. I loved his sense of humor and will be stealing all his jokes but I do understand if people don’t get him.
This shop is an experience.
If you like swap meets and flea markets and yard sales and antiques and thrift shops, welcome to paradise. 150’ of shop depth, multiple rooms.
If you are someone who wants to return your $5 Rolex because you realize it’s counterfeit, or the like, give me a break. This shop is not for you. This is clearly an all sales final...
Read moreI was stoked to randomly find a local antique store when I found this place. I was browsing in the store for about five minutes and Rick walked up to me and asked if I was buying anything. He looked annoyed. I told him I could leave if he’s closing, but he saw that I was holding on some things I was going to buy and he let me browse more. Or not really...!! He kept coming to me and asked me to check this and that out and said I needed to buy things as a set. Oh well I was not going to buy a set when most of the pieces were chipped!! I told him that and he brought more stuff and sorted out the ones that were “not chipped”.
I came home with a bunch of antique stuff i thought were cool, and later on after doing some research, i found out two of them were counterfeits. Four of them were chipped. I called the guy and asked for a refund or exchange. He said only exchange as an exception. But I’m not going back there again. It’s just too shady.
(To piggy back on the other review, the caged pigeons and cat were there when i visited and it didn’t seem...
Read moreThe man who owns and operates this place (Rick Lamb) is an absolute grumpy, foul-mouthed bigot. He has repeatedly screamed vulgarities at myself and my family members. And I mean things that I will not repeat on here.
He get the majority of his items for free from estates belonging to elderly people who pass away. He literally waits for them to die after seeking them out, then pounces on their property with a pickup truck, asking if they would like to "donate" any high-priced items.
If you have ANY common decency or dignity, do NOT support this...
