had lunch at Navaa today with my coworkers, and we were absolutely blown away by the experience! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant isn’t too large, which gave us a more personalized and attentive dining experience.
Now, let’s talk about the food—every single dish we tried was bursting with authentic flavors! We started with the Fish Wrapped in Banana Leaf, which was incredibly tender, perfectly seasoned, and had that rich, aromatic essence from the banana leaf. The Chicken 65 was first of its kind we have tried its crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, came covered in sauce and packed with just the right amount of spice. The Thalassery Beef Biryani was a standout—fragrant, flavorful, and cooked to perfection with tender beef and fluffy rice. The Shrimp Symphony was a delightful surprise, with a balance of spice and freshness that made every bite exciting. And the Glazed Chicken Wings? Absolutely addictive, with a perfect balance of sweetness and heat.
Everything tasted super fresh, and the spices were spot on, showcasing the true essence of South Indian flavors. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home.
Overall, Navaa exceeded our expectations, and we can’t wait to come back soon to explore more of their amazing menu. If you’re looking for authentic, flavorful South Indian cuisine in a warm and welcoming setting, this place is...
Read moreWe were visiting LA and sought authentic Indian cuisine and Mayura caught our attention. We were thrilled to discover Navaa, their new section specializing in Kerala food. The restaurant's simple ambiance and exceptional flavors promise it a bright future in Culver City. The staff were exceptionally courteous, consistently ensuring our satisfaction.
Our order included Appam, Porotta, Malabar chicken with fried coconut paste, Thalassery chicken biryani, beetroot masala dosa and lime soda. Each dish was outstanding.
The biryani and Malabar chicken were particularly memorable. Honestly, all the dishes were top-tier, making it difficult to rank them.
We also ordered takeout: Idli, chicken fry and kothu Porotta. The Idli was incredibly soft and the accompanying sambar and coconut chutney tasted authentic to Kerala style. The chicken fry and kothu Porotta were also delicious.
For anyone in or visiting LA, Mayura/Navaa is a must-try.
The only drawback is parking. While limited spots are available in front, the restaurant's popularity makes them scarce. Street and public parking are nearby, so plan accordingly.
Overall, this was the best Kerala cuisine experience we've had in the US. Highly...
Read moreI had lunch with my husband here and the food was very good. We got to know that they are a child restaurant of Mayura restaurant which is next door. That is awesome. The only reason that I deducted 1 star was because I saw they constantly share dishes between Navaa and Mayura without having a covering/lid. I saw my coffee traveling from Mayura which passed 2 doors without a lid and am very particular about hygiene in my food specially! Also they need to still work on completing the setup in the restroom. They are still new so am sure that our feedback will definitely help them. Five stars to the food and very friendly staff. Definitely going back for the fish wrapped in banana leaf. It was delicious with the tangy flavors and right amount of spice! Do give them a try next time you are in Culver City or visiting the...
