Extremely rude. I just moved to this area from a different state and i went to go try out different gyms to decide which gym i was going to pick for a membership. I tried out 3 different gyms and LA Fitness was the second to last one. I appreciate the free day passes most gyms offer because if i plan on investing a lot of my time and some money into a facility, i want to try it out and see the things offered at each place. My boyfriend had called LA Fitness and spoke to a manager two times before we headed there to try it out. Everything was set for us to go and get a free day pass, the guy even called again to confirm we were still coming. I get there and i was waiting to walk inside when what i assume was another manager walks out to her car. I don't know her name and i have been contemplating writing to corporate about this, i am going to say the type of car she drove so that location knows who was involved in this. She walked outside to her white BMW and gave me a somewhat dirty look. I ignored it and said hi and smiled. My diamond earring fell out of my ear. It wasn't a huge like boujee earring, just simple gold plated diamond earring that i wear eVeryday. I was looking for it on the floor and luckily found it as this manager (dark straight hair , i think maybe had glasses maybe now, possible Hispanic) walked to her trunk. We go in and talk to lady at front desk, she acknowledges that she was expecting us and was really nice then gave us paper work to fill out with our day pass after she finished explaining to us how it works. The manager walked back in and calls the lady working with us to the back and all i hear is, "homeless, floor, trash, don't allow, no". Random assortment of words but i got out that she assumed we were homeless because i was picking something up off the ground and to not allow us to come try out the facility. Suddenly, the lady helping us, takes back the day pass, apologized and claimed they don't do the day pass anymore and in the same claim explained how that code on that free day pass voucher had already been used for someone else that day and couldn't be used twice. Which makes no sense how do you not offer the day pass anymore yet also say the voucher code was already used today? Also the fact that because she thought i may have been homeless was why she didn't want us to come try it out, firstly is insulting considering i was wearing lululemon everything and am always appearing presentable. Lululemon doesn't matter but my point is to paint a picture of a put together presentable person. Secondly, i know people who live out of their cars because they drive lyft or uber for a living and are saving money, these people pay for a membership in order to have access to all good locations to have a place to go take a quick or long shower after a 12 hour driving shift or just to get their blood flowing after sitting for hours. So for the not just employee but manager of la Fitness to ASSUME we were homeless then because if that false, ignorant assumption , to deny us the option they offer to everyone and already had us set up to go then take it back is disgusting and frankly is a horrible representation of LA Fitness and what they believe. Also for them to deny an entire working class of people driving for a living because they are homeless is disgusting. I have so much to say but decided i am going to write to corporate. I would give them a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI faced insulting behavior, received absolutely an unapologetic and apathetic customer service from so-called sales manager Cesar refused to provide his last name. Feel harassed and racially discriminated and feel that I have been cheated by wasting my time and money by investing in this gym I wish I could rate their service and club possibly negative rating, however, that option is not available yet. When my brother and I arrived at the club today Saturday the July 5, 2019 around 8 pm, a young gentleman, well, I take it back an arrogant, disrespectful man know as Cesar who himself claimed sales manager which I believed a fake name and designation to begin with, because when I asked his last name, he totally refused to provide that information.
My brother and I are going to Northridge club for years, however, he has moved to a different city now, So, he is not so sure whether to keep the membership active because he has to pay two different clubs at the same time. So, he decided to put LA fitness membership on hold for which he had already paid for. Though over the weekends we still go to 18679 Devonshire St, Northridge, CA 91324 club. Only July 5, 2019, when we arrived at the club, Cesar who refused to provide his last name explained that my brother's membership has expired, we requested that we would like to re-activate his membership again since we are planning to work out together over the weekends. In fact, my brother also requested to add racquetball to our membership. Mr. Cesar said it will be considered new membership and we have to pay all fee all over again. So, my brother said that will be perfectly fine, however, he requested, since we have been members at the same club for years, if he could wave the initiation fee, Mr. Cesar bluntly said NO, then I requested if you can't have the small courteously to members who have been loyal to club for years, why would we be even here for and Mr. Cesar said I don't care if you are with club for 4 YEARS or 40 YEARS he doesn't care as if he owns the club. So at that point, I felt really disrespected and politely asked, what is your last name Cesar because I would like to share today experience and make sure to bring this LA fitness attention as well that how their members are being treated. He refused, cursed and left the desk. I am surprised and shocked to imagine, how does LA fitness does accept such irresponsible, disgraceful behavior of their employees towards their club members. Hope such complaints would bring some change and future or current members won't have to go through such...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWorst experience ever! The general manager of this location, Nick Lucas is one of the rudest most confrontational people Iāve ever had the displeasure of having to converse with. On two separate occasions, I went into this location with the intent of purchasing a full year upfront(doctors orders) on both occasions I was made to wait for over 30 minutes before I even spoke with someone. The first time I went in last year, I got frustrated after waiting for an hour and left. But this year when I went in, my patience was far less. I only waited for about 25 to 30 minutes before leaving. After calling back and ask for a manager, I was told that āthere was no manager on dutyā the same girl who was at the front desk when I came in was the one who answered the phone. I asked her āso youāre the only one working at the gym today, thereās no one else with any authority there whatsoever? āMr. Lucas came on the line a few seconds later, he claimed to be the general manager, but after contacting corporate, I was informed that he was actually the āsales managerā. He was rude, did nothing to mitigate the situation, didnāt even go so far as to say āIām sorry you had a bad experience, why donāt you come on back and weāll see if we can fix itā if he had said something as simple as that, it mightāve made the situation all right. But instead, he said,ā if Iām not managerial enough for you, why donāt you come up here and show me how to be managerialā the man actually challenged me to a fight over the phone! That right there was an outright challenge! I canāt believe this guy is actually employed!!! Itās one thing to note value, a customer who is willing to pay you an entire year upfront, but itās quite another to be confrontational with a customer. Whoās had a bad experience under your watch. Iām not sure if thereās any legal recourse here, but I am looking into it. I donāt take kindly to being threatened with physical violence by someone who I was about to give money to. It just seems...
