I am the executor of an estate. Had spent weeks trying to dispose of couple's possessions when Heritage Auction was recommended to us. The owner and his staff are the most professional people with whom I have ever worked!! Whatever they said they would do, was done on time. The elderly couple that lived in the house never threw or gave anything away - so you can imagine how much was in their home! Heritage came in, explained how they work - said they needed 3 weeks to get everything staged, rugs, countertops etc cleaned and to research certain items that could be more valuable than we realized, - Everything was ready for the sale just as we were told. I was amazed what they did to display all the items so beautifully. We were very pleased with the dollar outcome of the sale and the beautiful clean-up of the interior, pool patio and over 100 trash bags and paints stored on the outside of the house! What wasn't sold was donated to charity per our agreement. The team that Heritage employs is professional, courtesy, co-operative and certainly knows their business. I highly recommend Heritage. I have "cleaned up" several homes for people's estates and I have exhausted myself doing so...now that we have employed the Heritage staff, I will never do it myself again!!! The rules to go into there estate sale are absolutely ridiculous and no one else does it like that. The man that runs them is extremely rude! This is the second time we went to one and it will be our last. He has a no bag, purse or box rule for some but other can bring in what they want. And the icing on the cake is he over charged me $15 on the 30 items I bought (and no it wasnt the tax he charged which was $21.51) and only way I can get a refund is if I drive all the way back with all tags ect. Well if your a picker you know you start pricing and cleaning right away. And with gas prices the way they are its just not worth it. There are amazing estate sale companies out there you can buy from or use to sell your valuables. I would never recommend this place. The "Man" who runs it has a god like power trip that is crazy. Everyone in line was just shaking there head and felt disrespected at the opening of the sale. Beware of any of there estate sales!!! This man needs to get off his pedastal and show some respect. My family and I had representatives from Heritage come out for a consultation of my mother's estate two weeks ago. They were the first of three quotes that we received. While they were kind in person, they commented how all of her brown wood furniture would not likely sell, said there were chips in some of her more expensive crystal items that were not present, and offered an offensively low payment to "do us a favor" by trying to sell the items for a single flat payment to us rather than hold a commissioned sale. Both of the other quotes we received provided an expected minimum return that was over 10 times what Heritage offered. The company that we ultimately used generated 12 times what Heritage offered us.
