Worst Restaurant and Questionable Food from a Health and Safety Perspective I recently experienced the worst restaurant, in terms of both food and health and safety, that I have ever encountered. Until my recent visit, I was a regular customer, but my recent experience left me questioning my judgment and seeking a resolution.
It all started when I placed a to go order, and it quickly became evident that the food had been cooked in used oil that had a foul smell. The smell alone was enough to make me question the quality of the food. Upon further inspection, I realized there were many ways in which the food was compromised, and I cannot mention them all due to the nature of the issues.
Realizing the severity of this situation, I informed the restaurant staff about the questionable quality and lack of food safety. Initially, the staff seemed dismissive and unwilling to take responsibility. They insisted that the owner / manager would call me back. However, after a couple of back and forth conversations, and after several attempts to reach out to the management, the owner of the restaurant (Sukhi) finally called. I was hoping that she would take my feedback and resolve the issue in a professional and satisfactory manner. However, to my surprise, I faced more questions and accusations instead of understanding or support. The owner seemed to imply that I was somehow committing a crime by calling the restaurant and expressing my concerns.
After much persuasion and explaining my experience in detail, the owner eventually agreed to listen. However, instead of resolving the issue, she questioned my motives and intentions. She implied that my feedback was motivated by personal vendetta rather than a genuine concern for health and safety. It was disheartening to witness such a lack of care and support from someone who should be responsible for the quality of the food being served to the public.
In conclusion, my recent experience at this restaurant left a lasting negative impact on both my dining experience and my trust in the establishment's commitment to health and safety. The food was cooked in used oil that had a foul smell, and there were several ways in which it was compromised. Additionally, the lack of concern for the issues raised and the unwillingness to take responsibility for the situation by both the management and the owner were disheartening. I hope that by sharing this experience, others can avoid the heartache and frustration...
Read morePick up order on very recent 2 occasions. Preface with that fact that my husband & I, especially me love Indian food. I’m also aware that different restaurants offer cooking styles & cuisine from different parts of India. Also note that food here is quite delicious & good in general. Moved to the area a year ago and this is the nearest restaurant to us. The cooking style on some recipes are similar to other Indian restaurants we’ve eaten at in Los Angeles & loved however it just doesn’t compare to our favored restaurants (which we no longer live near) & experiences. The prices are comparable to these other Indian restaurants we love & the portions are large, definitely get more than one meal. The lack of combination dinner options is disappointing as everything except a vegetarian combo dinner is a la cart. This adds up very quickly. Unfortunately there’s no free papadam appetizer but they still give you the sauces for it for some reason. The food is delicious but not amazing out of this world. Gravy saucy dishes, a bit oily and a bit salty & a bit messy, lots of spices. We’ve so far have sampled a variety of chicken, vegetarian, & vegan options as well as some of the naan flatbread, a must try. Some of my recent order didn’t feel fresh the lentils in particular, it also had a horrible odor the next day although it tasted fine the day before. The people who work there are nice enough. Polite on the phone order. We’ve also ordered directly online for pickup off the website. No missing items even with our very large orders. Although ordered everything not spicy, because of ulcers not because we don’t like spicy, everything in our last order was spicy. Which made me think coupled with the fowl smelling lentils do they just make large portions of lentils, veggie basmati rice (also didn’t feel the freshest) & other such dishes early in the day & then just scoop it onto a plate when ordered with a mild spicy ness to it? I’m not sure, but it may be awhile before we eat there again as apposed to us not being able to get enough of our other favorite Indian...
Read moreI would just say that. Its a weird energy in this place. They looked at me like they have something to hide. So I left that day since they were looking at me funny and not in a good way. But I managed to come back to give them a try two months later. So I wanted to grab and go and they told me they charge by the pound, even though its all you can eat buffet. I said umm ok. So, I began to get my to go box and I ask if Naan is included for free with the Buffet. "Yes, but no free Naan if you want it to go, we must charge". Now I'm confused and a bit insulted. Ok so if I stay I can eat all I want and get free Naan too for less than I'm paying to go. (yes) But I'm getting my food to go and I'm paying more than the buffet, hence the charge by pound thing. So, you mean to tell me on top of the fact I'm taking far less food than I would eat while there and the Naan would be free. I cant get the free Naan to go. They smiled and said no. So, I declined to eat there and simply walked out and went to Paradise in Woodland Hills. But the reason I left is because they were willing to risk losing $25 buck instead of giving me the Naan to go, which is free to everyone who eats the buffet there. So they are willing to lose money rather than give me the free Naan I would have got anyway if I ate there. Penny pinching at its finest. Then I thought if they will penny pinch with me for free Naan then what are they doing when they are buying their ingredients and spices. I can just see them going with the cheap ingredients and cutting back on quality. That I cant agree with. They may be worth a try but with that ethos probably not. Good Luck and watch how they look at you when you come in or maybe it...
