I live close by and am thankful for the lot because the building that I live in does not offer parking. Luckily I don't have to pay the daily parking rate, which is inexpensive by Los Angeles standards at 2.50 per day as there is a monthly (actually quarterly) option for those that pay for long term parking, although parking is not guaranteed. The parking lot is owned and operated by the Los Angeles Department of Transportation and the monthly parking is paid in three month or set quarterly intervals (January through March, April through June, July through September and October through December). The reason I give the lot a two star rating is because (1) whenever I park in the lot for whatever reason my car will leave with a thin layer of dirt on it (2) when the city sends it's cleaners to blow the lot clean is the day I have a thick layer of dirt and debris on my car and (3) there is no video surveillance of the lot which is downright a major liability and disservice to the patrons because it is an urban and rough neighborhood to begin with. Needless to say, I found out the lot had no video surveillance after my car was broken in to and my parking pass had been stolen - which the lot does not replace.
