A $600 gown should not arrive defective, nor should a company excuse flaws as 'intentional design. I tried on many couture gowns at luxury retailers, each with the quality and craftsmanship expected at this level. I ultimately opted for the Modessa Couture gown, Style M20223 (Bronze Brown, Size 10), for my son's wedding, an occasion of the highest significance. I placed my trust in the brand's promise of 'high-quality control.' The gown I received proved the opposite. The hem was visibly uneven, with one side shorter than the other, creating an unbalanced appearance. The boning beneath the bust protruded, making the gown structurally unsound. Several appliqués were glued on rather than sewn, an unacceptable shortcut for any garment, let alone one sold at a couture price point. These are not matters of opinion; they are objective defects in workmanship. When I submitted these facts by email, Modessa Couture responded by insisting their gowns are made with 'high-quality control' and claimed the lack of symmetry was intentional. Nowhere in the description of this gown was it disclosed that it was designed to be asymmetrical. This is a misleading representation of the product. The gown was delivered the day before my son's wedding, leaving me no opportunity for correction or replacement. I was placed in an impossible position, forced to wear a defective garment on a day that should have been defined by joy, not embarrassment. For a brand charging luxury prices, the failure to deliver quality, the misleading product description, and the refusal to stand behind their product are indefensible.
