I have less than 4 months left in the program (It only lasts 2 years) and they have yet to line anything up for me. They have had minimal contact with me, never updated any of my information. "Retention Plans should be updated monthly and a full review conducted every three months" Never did a CES Survey on me until I learned what it a few months ago, and would have raised my VI-SPDAT score by almost 10 points. They were filling it out on my behalf. They claim they don't know what Permanent Supportive Housing is, they don't know what CES is, Rapid Re-Housing, DedicatedPlus Housing, Continuum of Care housing, Shallow Subsidy, Prevention Shallow Subsidy, MHSA-Certified Housing, nothing. Only 11 percent of people who walk through program doors ever making it to permanent housing. All they've done for me is go onto the Affordable Housing registry and apply for things without my consent, listings which I obviously couldn't afford. I wasted 2 apartment interviews at places I couldn't afford, and literally anyone can go onto that website. I've experienced violence and threats against my person and life by members of the program and the housing manager. No complaint was ever filed. They just don't care. All they do is make landlords they picked out richer by allowing them to not pay taxes by running "religious nonprofits" simply because they state "sober living". Look it up, that's how all these nonprofits get so rich. I've never seen a bible or any religious or spiritual imagery, nor have they had any kind of sobriety meetings. It's all bloat designed to take money that should be going to vouches putting it directly into the pockets of these soft-bottomed office workers. What PATH should have done is told me to do is take my check and get as far away from California as I can, to somewhere that actually lets you apply for HUD or Section 8, all of which are closed and have been closed since 2021 to single applicants (PATH never told me this, either). (You can even apply for Section 8 in places you don't even live yet, anywhere in the United States. It's pretty neat. Look up "affordable housing online open section 8 waiting lists") To anyone having issues I suggest you look up the "Scope of Required Services for Subsidies 2025" PDF on the LAHSA website. It'll tell you everything they're supposed to do that they're not. (side update before big one below: LAHSA just lost 300 million in funding, and I cannot access their website.)
They also failed to tell me that when you are in any kind of rehousing program, such as the TLS I was in, you keep your status as homeless in regards to acceptance to any other housing program. Look up "Hud Exchange FAQ ID 530." This means that after I was at path for a year, I was considered chronically homeless and eligible for PSH. PSH is permanent supportive housing for disabled where you only pay 30 percent of your income and receive case management for life. And they failed to even tell me I was eligible. They also never told me that all PSH housing is done by direct referrals, from housing developments that are sent to all housing department contacts before it can even be viewed on the Affordable Housing registry at all.
Update: The exited me 2 months early from the programming stating they had run out of budget. They are also now refusing to give me my case file.
Get away from here and go to the DMH. Less than a week out from leaving PATH, and the DMH is already telling me I qualify for PSH and SRO.
You want a protip? Google "What is the order of priority for CoC Program-funded PSH beds that are either dedicated or prioritized for the chronically homeless?" Hud Exchange FAQ ID 530.

Read moreThe snafu with the mail was cleared up and a supervisor reassured that it would not happen again. I believe that. Contrary to the negative posts people who endeavor to make a difference. . actually want to make a difference. I would love to see a stability center plan developed and submitted to the government in the request for a pilot program grant. These organizations are on the vanguard of the process and implementation of change in the way "we the people" address not only the homeless but also the first phase of the diagnosis of mental health. There is an epidemic of insanity playing havoc within the homeless. Without a most stable environment the current technology cannot reach it's full potential. You can argue that silently with the stability centers planning you can submit and I have reason to believe that it would be looked upon...
Read moreI stayed here for 7 months. It was an experience living in close vicinity and dealing with 29 other people and their personalities. The food is great. The case managers (Carina and Naomi) are great. The rest of the staff (Paul, Joel, Ariana, Jovan, Richard, and a few of the new people who work on the weekends) are also very good. The way they screen/vet incoming Veterans leaves a lot to be desired. A lot of the Veterans who have lived there (or still living there) has had serious problems with substance abuse/mental health and there’s been more than a few times when some of these same Vets would walk around the shelter under the influence of alcohol and drugs. The only other issue that I have is the lights. It reminded me TOO MUCH of military. Other than that, it’s a good program to go to if you want to...
