DONâT BUY FROM HERE When I considered buying an engagement ring from Robbin Brothers, I already had a template of a ring my fiancĂ©e wanted. I went into the store looking to purchase a ring with a round diamond band and a cushion stone and halo. The jeweler explained that the ring can be designed to look like the template I had. The jeweler said we can make a custom halo to place in the top of any band. He explained he can "Open it up and drop the halo in and close it up." Those are the jeweler's words. After looking at a few alone bands to design an engagement ring on, I liked a diamond band that was designer made and ready to go (premade). The band I chose was thin and smooth and was fit to be made into an engagement ring. Fast forward to when the ring was made and I got it, not only was the halo the wrong shape (round) for my cushion diamond, but the jeweler went on his own terms and changed the band I picked from the start to a band that is bigger and just straight out unflattering. He customized the whole band to his liking. "Making it thicker to protect the diamonds from falling out." Jeweler's Words. The purchase for the band already came with a diamond protection if they fall out anytime for life they are replaced. This being a diamond band that was premade by a designer jeweler and then sold in the store comes with protection for the diamonds. I donât need you to worry about the diamonds and not ask me to make that sort of extreme custom change to the plan we had originally discussed. On top of that, one of the sales reps asked to see the ring as I was picking it up and decided to TRY ON the ring to see it on herself to PROVE that it will look good on her hand! That is beyond unprofessional, there is no reason why ANYONE should try the ring on except my fiancĂ©. This is a fine example lack of attention to the customer's request when it comes to caring for the expensive purchase I made with you, to how that now decreases the worth of the band as it has become a random person made ring rather than a designer made one, and to sticking to the agreement we had in place to make the special ring I showed a picture to the jeweler and he said he can do it. The picture was from a jeweler in Australia. If you were wondering why not go there, itâs because I would rather see the ring after it is all done. I did here and I told them that they changed the band, and the halo is not the right shape, size, and really thick. He cannot use gold for any sort of craft if you cannot tell a circle from and slightly curved off square (cushion). He should go back to wood carvings that way its less expensive to practice on. As the custom work was not what I had asked for I asked to have my money that I spent on the ring back and they respond back with "IF it was less than $15 THOUSAND DOLLARS, we could have worked something out, but..." SO there is a max spending limit before they will work with you on refunding you any money back? Attached is a signed card of the General Manager, REZ, stating our agreement at closing hour. The next day, he changed his mind on any sort of restocking option, I am just stuck with a $14,837 ring that I did not pick out or ask for. Notice how it has $3,000 scratched out and 20% in. Its cause the going rate to restock is "15-20%" (which he stated, I verified online, and then he had the audacity to ask me "where I got that percent?" I told him you "You just said it and I checked it online.") but he was cutting corner and not doing the percent, but rounding it up and doing a flat fee. That was very sketchy to me. You are telling me one thing, doing another, and asking me how I got here? There's no reason I should be stuck with a $15,000 ring, that is nowhere near what I asked for, with the fault of no one but the jeweler. Why state you can execute a ring confidently, when you clearly can't! The Jeweler and the Customer Service at the facility is very corner cutting and do their own thing when it comes to making a change to a ring and to the price you pay for your ring. So literally everything! DONâT...
Read moreI am infuriated by the experience I had last week at the Robins Brothers in Woodland Hills, CA. My husband and I went in and purchased not one, but two diamond wedding bands (over a $1,300 purchase) for me to wear on either side of my engagement ring last Tuesday. We were trying to be quick since we know we shouldnât even be in the store because of COVID. Once we decided on the rings, we were put into a small office space with the associate, which is definitely not COVID friendly, and it took us almost an hour to make the purchase because the woman was spending so much time talking. Fast forward to Friday when I was told to pick up my rings. We live at least a 30 minute drive from the store so my husband called to make sure my rings were ready. Once we got the green light we drove over and when the person came out with my rings only one was resized. When I asked what the solution was, since I was already there to pick up my rings, I was told that I had to wait until because I couldnât be âput in frontâ of other customers who purchased items and were expecting to pick them up that day. This logic is absurd to me since I too was promised my rings would be ready and called to make sure this situation didnât happen. When I asked to speak with a manager it took him 20 minutes to come out because he was âon a managers callâ, which is just an example of how bad this business is being run since they should be told to put customers over internal business calls. I finally left after being told I could just âwait around in the areaâ for the 3 hours while they were fixedâŠwhich isnât possible because we are in the midst of a global pandemic and arenât even supposed to be leaving our homes. I had to do a separate, additional trip on Saturday to pick up my rings. Itâs unfortunate because I wanted to get my two rings made into a ring guard (which I was told is an additional $200) and potentially use them as my normal jeweler moving forward but now I donât want to give Robbins Brothers another penny of my money. This whole debacle turned what should have been an exciting purchase that I waited two years to save for into...
Read moreTake your business anywhere but here. This company. This location. The jeweler they have in house to back their âPeace of Mindâ garbage warranty completely butchered my wedding ring I have had for 10 years.
If it was possible to rate this place no stars I absolutely would. I am sick over this entire situation and the âtreatmentâ I have been given as someone who has purchased and received 3 rings here.
I bring my ring in yearly to maintain the warranty on my diamond. Last time I brought it in, I was told Iâd need the tips repronged, and I would have to leave my ring for a week. I did not want to do this. I havenât been without my ring for any period of time since it was placed on my finger 10 years ago.
I left it at the Canoga Park (Woodland Hills) location in January for a week and picked it up. I could immediately tell it was off. It just didnât look like my ring. I am a non confrontational person, so I left to inspect it at home. It is completely butchered. See the photos below for yourself.
The prongs do not match the original setting, there are pits in all the prongs. Itâs snagging on EVERYTHING. No two prongs look alike. They were never evened out, or re-finished as the metals are all mismatched.
The quality of work is so subpar, it looks like an amateur/apprentice jeweler worked on it.
I went back after attempting to cool down about the entire situation and was told there was no one there who could help me. The jeweler was not there, nor was the manager. She offered to have me leave my ring (really, REALLY?!) and she would convey the issues (I wouldnât hold my breath as she told me it wasnât butchered) or to come back in 3 days and try and get help then.
I have zero confidence that my ring can be returned to its original condition. They only employ one jeweler and they already proved to me theyâre not capable of fixing what should have been âan easy and routine maintenanceâ to my ring.
Now Iâm going to have to fight for my warranty and replacement. I am currently waiting on a call back from...
