California Pizza Kitchen at Topanga — Restaurant in Los Angeles

We had a pretty disappointing experience at California Pizza Kitchen. We asked to be seated in the middle section of the mall (outside of the restaurant) and were told there’d be a 15-minute wait, which was totally fine. But while we waited, we noticed multiple dirty tables that hadn’t been cleared. Even after we were finally seated, those same tables were still covered in dirty dishes. At one point, the entire row of tables around the bar was covered in filthy dishes for an extremely long time. It made the wait feel unnecessary, they just weren’t cleaning up or turning the tables efficiently.

Once we sat down, things didn’t get much better. Our server (i didnt get her name, but she had very large lips and prominent eyebrows) had a serious attitude and forgot several things we asked for, even after repeating ourselves more than once. Every time I looked for her, she was at the bar making drinks for the same two guys and flirting instead of checking on her own tables. Thankfully, another waitress stepped in and was much more attentive. She seemed to be picking up the slack for our server.

Even though our food took a long time to come out, it arrived lukewarm, which made me feel like it had just been sitting there while we waited. It was frustrating to have waited so long only for the food to show up not even hot.

On top of that, there was a loud, disruptive group of teenagers most clearly under 16, hanging around the same area. Not all of them were even eating, and they were yelling to people aross the mall and on the second floor, running around, and leaving their stuff everywhere. It got so out of control that security had to get involved. Everyone seated nearby kept glancing around at each other, clearly annoyed and uncomfortable.

Between the uncleaned tables, poor service, lukewarm food, and chaotic environment, this was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in...

update (21/10/04) the next time you're at this location, please try the strawberry mango or cucumber coolers. tried the strawberry mango cooler (non-alcoholic) and it was a pleasant surprise for their happy hour options. i love strawberry mango and their style blend is sweet and just-right bubbly. it doesn't overwhelm. cpk got back to me and we discussed the previous situation to better understand what happened. i write many reviews and they're not always five stars, and that's to provide as honest a feedback as possible to my community. That being said, google maps reviews are editable for a reason (in my opinion)— they can be used as feedback mechanisms with the intent of inspiring honest communication with the goal of maintaining high value of services and relations (rather than mindlessly submitting judgement on an establishment). Many establishments respond to negative feedback defensively or passively, which is understandable yet unfortunate. Unfortunate in that they overlook the opportunity for communication and positive change (where change is acknowledged and appropriate given the resources at hand). CPK showed great character (and Toni specifically [hope I am spelling the name correctly]) by taking up the tough decision to open themselves up to what I had to say. In the end, however, we both learned more about the situation and were able to improve the experience (if not only for myself, then hopefully for the community at large). That course of action takes a lot of guts and I want to acknowledge and reward that decision because I believe it to be the right one. Thank you.

Garbage’s next time Latinos stay all way from this white wash 🧼 garbage this is the place where all white people come in discriminate, Hispanic people and joke about them because their owners of their own compass they think they could talk about Spanish people make remarks and make jokes about them like a low punch whatever to them I’m an owner of myself my company ceo . I don’t hang around with the white snakes and God bless. I am Latino person and I hang out with my own people and poor and happy not with these kind of snakes.
