Assaf and Aman are the men! No, really I mean they are the MEN. Assaf has been the one working on me the most, but they have both been professional athletes, worked on professional athletes and both obtain their PhD’s in PT from Temple University which really separates them from any other Physical Therapy joint. Actually, three factors them from anyplace else. 1. - it's athletes working on injuries that they have suffered from. 2 - it's the owners and staff that truly make it a special place. 3. - (and this is what got me in the door)... One of the owners is the actual physical therapist for the Los Angeles Clippers. That right there tells you that they are tapped into a whole other level of therapists and practitioners. I'll get into points 1. and 2. below. :-)
It's one thing to know everything conceptually but it's a whole other thing when you've been through a lot of these injuries yourself. That's what I feel like separates these guys from the rest. That and the fact that you will never meet owners and staff that are out of this world nice and friendly and knowledgeable. They genuinely show up because they love what they do and get true satisfaction in helping people heal. I really appreciate everything Assaf, Aman and the rest of the team do for me. If you have an injury like I do you see them just as much as you see your family which means they become your family and that's exactly what they feel like, family. *shout out to Jordan, Denny and Trisha. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. #realtalk.
You make a great, positive impact in this world, and you should be very proud of that. Of course I don't just simply mean in the way that your team are ninja's when it comes to PT (which is most definitely true!) but also in your teams intuitions and abilities to read and connect with people on a real, deep and meaningful level. That's a rare quality.
Thanks to Assaf and all of you at SRPT: Atwater Village from the bottom of my heart for setting my Wellness practice in an entirely new direction that is only leading to strength (of body, mind and spirit), joy and overall lifelong sustainability. Keep up the great work, and I’ll see you guys tomorrow for another day of grinding.
I highly recommend stay ready physical therapy - Atwater Village to anyone who wants to recover from an injury or just develop a disciplined program that is specifically designed for you and your goals. I...
Read moreStay Ready PT - if you're looking for a place where you immediately feel at ease (despite the fact that they just found a knot in your muscle you never knew existed) and part of a neighborhood family, no need to keep perusing through the Yelp classifieds.
I go to the location in the Mid-Wilshire area. Usually, you have 20-30 minutes on the table with the therapist. They will discuss your pain, evaluate your range of motion, assess strength, and work with your tissue to reduce tightness. You are then prescribed various exercises to strengthen and stabilize the corresponding muscles. These exercises are supervised by trainers and assistants to ensure that you have proper form. The team puts together creative and dynamic exercise prescriptions which improve your functionality. Everything is chosen with a purpose. If you follow their instructions, they will not only get you back to where you were pre-injury, but also improve all aspects of performance.
The facility is smaller, which I love because the team truly gets to know you and incorporates exercises specific to the activities you do to get you back to doing what you love.
As for the team themselves, Dayna is my girl. Most often people count out women as not having the strength to perform at the same ability as men. Dayna is proof this is not true. Her manual technique helps her feel through your muscles to determine what needs the most work. She applies pressure like no other. It may not be fun in the moment, but the relief you feel afterward is worth the few minutes of discomfort. Plus she's an awesome person in general. Why would you not want to go just to hang out with her!
When Dayna is booked or on vacation, I continue to go, seeing other members of the team. They all coordinate together and are all knowledgeable. Each brings a new perspective to your injury which provides a more complete therapy approach. From Aman's creative exercises, to Krysztof's cupping and Assaf's evaluation technique, you can't go wrong...
Read moreStarting PT at Stay Ready last spring was one of the best decisions I have made in a very long time. After still having pain following a meniscus surgery, my orthopedist sent me to Stay Ready, and my visits there quickly reduced my knee pain, got me stronger, and became the highlights of my week. In the 8 months since then, I have worked with almost everyone at Stay Ready and could not recommend them all more highly. They are a superbly talented team, across the board, and all have wonderful personalities that make coming to PT fun and informative.
Although I would recommend seeing anyone at Stay Ready to a friend or family member, I have an enormous soft spot for Karin, the therapist I go to the vast majority of the time, who is one of the most intelligent, kind, supportive, and effective medical professionals I have ever known. She has not only helped me build strength so that my knee pain is virtually gone, but she has also: helped me address other random physical ailments as-needed; taught me a tremendous amount about anatomy, training in general, and skiing (our shared passion); and become a close personal friend in the process.
From my very first appointment, I could tell I was in excellent hands at Stay Ready, which is a massively reassuring feeling after being fed up for years with pain and the inability to live my life as I wanted to. When I first started at Stay Ready, I couldn't go on a long walk without having at least some discomfort. Now, I am skiing, skateboarding, hiking, dancing, and doing all the things I love, while feeling stronger than ever. And although I'm very excited to be making such progress, I'll be very sad when the day comes that Stay Ready isn't in my life anymore. They're simply the best; to go anywhere else, if you have the option, would...
