So I found out this store is a franchise. I don’t know who or where the franchise owner is, but he or she should be aware that Dahlia and most of the staff there are very unprofessional, rude, and prejudice bullies. I went into the store to book a cooking class, and the manager Dahlia simply told me that my class was fully booked and walked away. She was very dry and had a very rude attitude. Leadership is really important and a store such as this the other employees seem to follow the leader, which is what they’re doing. Another associate help me to book the next available cooking class. When I arrived at the cooking class, I was told that I couldn’t go to the cooking class because I had a service dog. They tried to challenge me on the whole issue, but it was illegal for them to not let me go in the class. During the class I had my dog in a clean confined carrier and there was no disruption to the class. The class did not go very well because the chef Lauren was not prepared and had to order multiple times various ingredients from the grocery store. The chef burned the rice and there wasn’t enough sauce for all of the cooks that were taking the class. Needless to say only myself and one other person took any food home and the rest was left there. I took a second class after I was refunded for that class and it went great. The chef was very professional and very kind. However, when I went to book a third class, I was told I was no longer welcome to take any further classes at Sur La Table. They were mad that I had reported how things went and chef Lauren’s class. Every time I came in the store after that people who I did not know were suddenly being mean to me after I’ve lived in the area and come to the store for more than a decade. It turns out the district manager, told everyone at the store that I complained and described who I was so now everyone that works there knows who I am and basically doesn’t like me because they can’t handle any kind of complaint. They retaliated by making up a lies about me to all of the staff so they would all ganged up on me and make me uncomfortable so I would never return to the store. The district manager is just another manager that worked in the area who is very buddy buddy with everyone and is now their boss. So no one actually cares or does their actual job. It’s a big problem from the top down. I bet the franchise owner has no idea what’s really going on because they’re hiding it from a district manager level all the way down to the store level. I tried to get a simple price match for a Breville coffee machine bought on November 26th, and she was unbelievably rude and disinterested to help. She started with a list of things they can’t price match on without seeing the my price match receipt. She then interrupted me when I was explaining her that it was a target 15 % off on appliances for Thanksgiving, but she kept saying she can’t do a price match as the target website does not show a discount right now. Despite having a Target receipt (which shows date of order 26th Nov, 15% off on appliances stated) and their 14 days price match policy, she still created unnecessary hurdles and also questioned my credibility saying it is target cash applied. She acted as if I were asking for money from her own pocket and kept telling the manager on call “looks like she applied target cash credit(when it is clearly says 15% off on appliances but she just did not want to believe or see it)”. She also had the audacity to ask “so you bought from Sur La Table as it was unavailable in Target”??FYI - I saw the offer in Target after I purchased from you in store and I did not want to return it after use only for a price match. I honestly can’t believe why they keep such rude and nasty people like her in the front desk who has no interest in helping a customer or know what customer service means. It took the intervention of the manager on call to finally get the price match, but the damage was done. Later, I even told her if you prefer I can return the machine and get it from target but I wanted you to keep my business(I should have done that instead to not deal with her) I won't be setting foot in this store...
Read moreI have had a nightmare of experience and still dealing with at this particular store, specially the Manager Dahlia and the rest of the employees, I received a DeLonghi coffee machine as a gift the gage on the machine was not working properly, so I took it back the manager took it back and I bought a very expensive coffee machine and used the first coffee machine credit towards it, however the second coffee machine also was defective, the coffee was not warming up, well here we go again took it back and waited at least a half hour before the manager Dahlia helped me return the item, but they refused to give me the first coffee machine refund $766, saying that they had given me a credit towards the second machine, well guess what they have both my coffee machines and I am out $766.00, I have never met such incompetent people, easy math, they owe me for both, they ruined my Christmas and what a nice thing my son did for me buying me this machine, I have gone to the store 3 times without any success, I will continue further with more action to get my gift money refunded to me..I really don't understand how someone becomes a manager of a store and can't figure this simple math problem. I have the second machine refund but not the first one that the Manager took from me... So I don't recommend this store or their employees for further purchases and hope that they read this review and...
