Romanov Restaurant and Lounge — Restaurant in Los Angeles

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! In short, the food is terrible and you might get robbed. Yesterday, we were there for a private party. The food was just awful!!! Terrible quality and terrible selection! It really was the worst i have had in a while. To top it off, my iphone got stolen there. Since it was a private party and I remember the point when I last had it, when we couldn't locate it, I asked the manager to help and he was so unaccommodating. Rude, yelled at me saying it is MY responsibility and not HIS and how he has to stay now on his personal time and deal with this. When we finally convinced him after an hour to show us the footage from the security cameras, the quality was pretty bad. However, it was good enough to tell that no one came to our table but the waiters. So i am guessing one of them took it while cleaning up. And since the phone was turned off right away so that we are not able to locate it though the icloud it sounds like a professional job. When my husband called the restaurant today, the manager simply hung up on him once he figured out who it was. TERRIBLE...

Great place, gorgeous design, good staff, owner needs to speak the chef tho. Other then that good place. The valet guys a little rude. The reason I’m still giving this place 5 stars is because overall experience was GREAT. I’m the type of person that looks at the BIG picture and not nit pick at things. It’s a place of entertainment, not everything will ever be perfect anywhere. I’ve been all around the world and been many places and I have to say their overall business modo is good. Staff on the inside is friendly and inviting which I find to be the most important in a restaurant business. I use to do review commission for food spots in DC so I know exactly what to look for. The reason I say address the chef is because Russian food is made from heart and suppose to be very tasty, which most of their dishes are. But some of them just tasted like microwave food. I celebrated my birthday here, and honestly, trusting this restaurant was one of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever made. From the beginning, the manager promised everything would be perfect — that the tables would be set beautifully, the food would be served on time, and no guest would be left waiting or hungry. He convinced us to take the $175 package, and we believed him. But what actually happened was a nightmare. The main dishes didn’t come out until 11:10 p.m., and the fish was brought at 12:10 a.m. — when most of my guests had already gone home. The salads were half done, the portions were small, and the staff acted like they didn’t care at all. Everything felt unorganized and unprofessional. I was so embarrassed in front of my guests. They left hungry, and what was supposed to be a special night turned into total disappointment. They completely ruined my celebration.
