Used to go here a lot because its my local liquor store. But one day I parked there, purchased something, walked out and put my item in my car and went to My Taco, the restaurant next door, to pickup food. When I started walking, the liquor store clerk follows me and tells me I can't go there if I'm parked in the parking spot (meanwhile there was a handicapped person waiting in my car + I had purchased something from the liquor store). My dad starts explaining how there is no reason to move the car and how this clerk is clearly picking on us because as we were talking, somebody else was doing the same thing (going to liquor store and my taco). The clerk then began to attempt to refund my purchase without my wanting. Then threatened to cut my dads hair off if he goes into the store. Clerk got extremely upset over us explaining why he was out of line asking us to move. So now when he sees me he says I can't shop there and the reason being is "you already know". Yup. That's what the clerks reasoning is. Which really isn't a reason. Due to the anti discrimination laws I might have to sue because it seems as though he targeted us because we were of a certain skin color not like his. Anyways. Do not support this foolery. Go to rite aid or the smoke shop next door, don't...
Read moreI've been going here for about a year now, mostly after 10pm, and unlike the other reviewers here I can't say that I've had any distinctly bad experiences. The store is pretty well organised, and they have a great selection of micro/craft beer - but they don't put prices on anything. A few times I've spent 5 mins looking for something interesting only to get up to the register and find out that it's $15-$20 (which is well beyond my price range) and I put it back.
Most of the time I have no problem with high priced beer - as an occasional home brewer I know all of the work and cost that goes into something unique. However, I can't shake the feeling that some cashiers are charging what they want to charge over what the actual price might be. Most of those people I've only seen once or twice, and every other cashier I've met there has been nice (especially given the time of night), so maybe that problem is taken...
Read moreI've been coming here for a couple of years now since I moved to HP. Won't ever return after today. The arrogant owner just obviously overcharged me $2.50. A 12 pack of Tecate is always $10. He was on the phone trying to negotiate a room at a hotel or something and I saw $2.50 on the register screen before he even scanned anything. I purchased a 12 pack and a Clamato juice... $17.78. I asked how much the beer was.. "8.99... uh $9.99... oh no it's $12.50!." He didn't even bat an eye, I was very disappointed in him. And mind you he's still on the phone trying to swindle a better hotel rate! The only reason i didn't just walk away was because I was in a hurry but to all you beer lovers beware the random...
