Update:
The following Sunday, we returned for dinner, but unfortunately, the service was exceptionally slow. Despite waiting at least 8-10 minutes, I had to flag down the hostess to locate our server. It was evident that he had seen me as he attended to neighboring tables. When he finally approached our table, his demeanor lacked warmth, devoid of a genuine greeting or smile, as if we were an inconvenience.
I typically refrain from commenting on subpar service out of sympathy for the hard work involved, having been in similar shoes during my college years, so I won't mention any names. However, the experience was disappointing.
Furthermore, when our food arrived, the pork chops I had requested to be cooked medium were served well-done and lacked flavor.
Given these factors, I believe it's best to take a break before considering another visit, especially with plenty of other dining options available in LG.
First Visit:
Tonight, we decided to dine at Los Gatos Parkside for a relaxed dinner date. It was our first visit, and we were delighted with the overall experience. Surprisingly, the pricing was very reasonable compared to our expectations, and our server, John, was attentive.
We appreciated his recommendations, and every dish we tried was delicious. Despite being too full for dessert, we look forward to returning for the beignets, and we both enjoyed our drinks. My mocktail was particularly impressive, considering my recent avoidance of alcohol and disappointment with other mocktails offered elsewhere.
The restaurant's cozy atmosphere features a spacious bar area that was bustling even during our early dinner visit. Convenient parking nearby, close proximity to the park, and its central location in Los Gatos add to its appeal.
We truly enjoyed our time tonight at LG Parkside and look forward to becoming...
Read moreI had an opportunity to eat here on their 2nd day of being open to the public.
Venue: It's in a great location across from the park. The restaurant has a modern vibe with cool bar with several tv's. Bathrooms were nicely appointed. Seating was comfortable and tables had good spacing.
Service: Given that it was only the 2nd day, there were some kinks that needed to be ironed out. That is to be expected and did not deter from our experience. The servers were pleasant and did have a positive attitude and were knowledgeable about the menu. Management came over to say hello and thank us for our patience and understanding as they were dialing in the kitchen. I really appreciate the acknowledgement which the most important thing.
Food/Drinks: We tried a number of different cocktails. They were quite good and tasty. I ordered a drink called, "Just Peachy" . It was good but I was expecting more peach if that was what the drink was called.
I ordered a salad called, "Super Food". which was delicious! It was a mango, avocado, jicama, berries, romaine with a vinagrete. Definitely would order it again! Very tasty!
For my entree, I ordered the "Mary's fried chicken". Very very good. It was nicely battered, with a honey type sauce. It came with mashed potatoes and green beans too. Would order as a take out. Just wonderful. My friends ordered a shrimp dish, salmon and the gnocchi. They were super happy with their meals as well.
Conclusion: This will be a regular place for me and my family. Loved our experience. I anticipate it only getting better as they were through the kinks of a new restaurant. I would definitely...
Read moreI would give this experience five stars without a doubt. The hostess seated us quickly at our reservation time, placing us in a lovely spot near the bar and the kitchen. The energy in the restaurant was vibrant and full of positivity! Our server, Mitchell, was gracious and attentive, ensuring my drink never ran dry.
Speaking of drinks, I had to order an Old Fashioned, which was perfectly poured and had amazing flavor! The only downside was that it was missing the cherry, which is a must for me since I’m particular about that.
For dinner, I chose the special surf and turf, which included two 5-ounce steak medallions (cooked perfectly), mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, and blackened shrimp. The flavor of each dish was a solid five out of five.
For dessert, I ordered another Old Fashioned, but unfortunately, this one was not made correctly. I watched in disbelief as the bartender failed to garnish it with orange spritz and seemed unsure about using simple syrup or bitters. However, Mitchell and the manager quickly addressed the issue and made me an even better drink, this time with three cherries!
This was a late Mother’s Day dinner with my mom, and the restaurant was the perfect place for conversation and people-watching. If I didn't live in Texas, this would be my local bar. I would give it a ten out of ten and highly...
