Exceptional Stay for a Large Group â Perfect for Bourbon Trail Adventures
We recently stayed at one of Bourbon Rentals' large homes during a group trip to Louisville, Kentucky, and it exceeded all expectations. There were 20 of usâtwo families and six couplesâand the house was more than spacious enough for everyone to relax, spread out, and enjoy.
From the start, our host Brandon was incredibly responsive. We had multiple rounds of questions in the weeks leading up to the tripâabout the house layout, nearby amenities, and moreâand Brandon always replied quickly with clear, helpful answers. He often included extra tips that made planning so much easier for a group our size.
The home itself was fantastic. The bathrooms were large, clean, and comfortable, which made it easy for everyone to get ready without bottlenecks. The bedrooms were roomy with very comfortable beds. The kitchen was well-stocked and made cooking for a crowd stress-free whenever we chose to stay in.
The game room was a huge hitâespecially with the teenagers and young adults. It featured a golf driving net and putting green, arcade games, pinball, poker, and shuffleboard tables. The adults loved it too, and it made for many fun, late nights. (Pro tip: the golf area can echo a bitâmight want to set a curfew unless you're into midnight tee times!)
The living spaces were thoughtfully laid outâplenty of seating for shared meals and enough nooks for quiet coffee or reading breaks. The movie room was a favorite, and the pickleball court? Absolutely professional-grade. We could have easily spent the whole trip just enjoying the home.
But the location was equally impressiveâcentral to Louisville and within easy reach of many Bourbon Trail stops. We especially loved Makerâs Mark for its stunning grounds and wax-dipping experience (great souvenir!), and Buffalo Trace gave a tour so in-depth we joked we earned a degree in bourbon distilling.
We also had the privilege of meeting wonderful locals during our volunteer ministry work in the area, which made our trip even more meaningful.
All in all, this home was a perfect choice. Everyone in our group was beyond happy with the experience. Thank you, Brandonâweâre already talking about...
Read moreWe had a fabulous stay at the Oak Barrel Lodge! Our group was in town for an event and had three generations staying together. There were 15 of us in total.
The house was easy to find using GPS. It is very private and had its own parking lot which perfectly fit our 5 cars. The exterior is beautiful and well maintained. One note-if coming from Louisville, you may want to prepay for the toll road or program your GPS to avoid toll roads if you donât want the added expense. It is not expensive but the payment of tolls is a little different than what we have at home.
The homeâs main area has an open concept kitchen, dining and living room. This worked really well for games and social activities for the family. The decor is gorgeous and well fitting with the name of the home. We loved the oak barrel feature wall.
The back patio has ample seating for outside dining and games to play in down time. We thoroughly enjoyed playing corn hole and connect four while others sat at the table chatting away.
The kitchen and dining area is fabulous! There is plenty of room for everyone to sit and eat. There was plenty of storage for us to put enough food for our group for the three days that we were there. It is very thoughtful that the host makes sure to have enough tableware and cutlery for a large group.
The bedrooms and bedding are comfortable with ample beds. There are plenty of bathrooms and powder rooms and they are beautiful!
