I rarely post negative reviews but after a horrible experience at Takashi, I just needed to. My husband and I placed a to go order and we waited almost an hour for our food. The server kept telling my husband that our order is almost ready, but we found out that the kitchen staff forgot to make one of our orders; hence, the delay. I understand that new restaurants need a lot of time to adjust, and this would normally not have upset us. However, one of the servers (who I was told was the wife of the owner) not only accused us that we just got there to pick up our online order and that we didn’t really wait that long. Below is a photo of our receipt where my husband placed a to go order in person at 8:00 pm. We finally got our orders at 8:50 pm. We would have left and gone someplace else, but my husband has already paid and even gave them a tip. In exchange for their mistake and for our time and frustation, they just gave us a small bowl of fried rice which we did not ask for and did not want.
Additionally, the said server continuously tried to put her arms around me without my permission, and tried to appease me by promising that our food will come out soon. I did not know this server personally, and her actions made me feel very uncomfortable. She invaded my personal space and was downright unprofessional.
Food is overpriced for the quality and quantity. They also charged us extra for sauce. We have had much better poke bowls and bibimbaps at other places.
Takashi is owned and run by Filipinos, and as a fellow Filipino myself, I really wanted to support this restaurant. However, we are deeply appalled by our experience and we will never return.
If you are looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant with exceptional service, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Takashi is...
Read moreI walked in for carry out. I had only ordered sushi from here via Door Dash before and really liked it but wanted to try a Poke bowl. Dilemma, I had never ordered one before and didn't know what to ask for specifically. The host sat me at the bar, and after the server realized I needed a to-go order, she sent the host back over to me to help with my order and got me a glass of water. He explained portion sizes and how to pick my Poke bowl options clearly and quickly. My food came quickly but was fresh amd delicious. The Miso soup was hot (temperature🌡) & the best I've probably ever had. I'm used to the clear broth Miso from most Sushi places. This was a little cloudy and much more flavorful with lots of pieces of green seaweed (I think) and scallions. The Poke bowl (I chose one of theirs called "Craziest Poke of the Sea" or something along those lines) was gigantic and amazing. I got 2 satisfying meals from my $20 Poke bowl. I consider it well spent. I hope more people visit this place and keep it going. It would be nice to see this place stay around. Great food, great service and 2 convenient ways to get out of the parking lot make this one a hit for me. Close to home, and it checks all my boxes.... now just to win my family over on this...
Read moreI was so disappointed in this place and I came in really wanting to like it. Our appetizers (crab Rangoon and veggie tempura) were very good. My sushi was also excellent (sexy mango roll and maguro nigiri). Something to note is the menu says three pieces for nigiri but you are only served two. My real problem was with my dinner partner’s ramen. Upon ordering it, he asked for no nori or fish cake, add extra bamboo and an extra egg. They asked how he’d like his eggs and he said soft boiled. I was finished with my sushi before his ramen even came. When it arrived it was lukewarm. The bamboo shoots were ice cold. The shrimp tempura was extremely soggy. The eggs were hard boiled with a solid yolk all the way through and they were also cold. He tried his best to eat it but he couldn’t as he found it too unappetizing due to the temperature. Our waiter was kind enough to take it off the bill for us…but my question is: how does that even happen in a restaurant with only a few customers dining in? My good friend happened to also be there dining with her family and told me that her ramen turned...
