So to start out I had the opportunity to deal with Jay my first time coming in. He was very nice in person and handled our transaction well enough. Before finalizing anything I had asked if they did 94% as I was told that was the case and he and the person next to him both said "yes it averages out to that based on purity" so I didn't think anything about it and finished the transaction. After going over the paperwork it turned out that they only have 81 and 84% respectively on over 1500 in scrap 10 and 14k gold. So I called them back and asked to speak to the person who handled my transaction. After being hung up on the first time, I called back and dealt with the most rude interaction you could ever imagine from a Jay.
I had explained that the percentages didnt match up with what he had said. He responded with "well those are the dealer prices." HE MADE NO CLARIFICATION OF THIS IN OUR TRANSACTION. HE MADE NO ATTEMPT TO ASK IF I WAS A DEALER OR NOT. If this clarification had been made, then I would have filled out the paperwork required to establish my dealer status with them as my business is a registered secondhand dealer in the state of KY. I had asked Jay if he had indeed told me that the percentage averages out to 94% and he said yes. I had asked him if he had failed to make a clarification that there was a difference between dealer prices and regular and he said "you didn't ask." asking if the percentage being 94% should be more than enough to assume that that was what I was expecting.
I wish I had weighed out my scrap separate from my resellable items before bringing it in because I would have seen the difference. That's my fault. But this man explicitly took advantage of what would have otherwise ended up a great dealer relationship, and did it in the most unprofessional and rude manner...

The manager yelled at his employee while he was performing a transaction with me, audibly called him "such an imbecile," and then FIRED HIM as soon as he closed out the transaction with me. They have back rooms. Take your employee aside if you have to. Never humiliate your employees publicly, no matter the offense. I prefer to patronize establishments that act professionally at all times.
Edited to add- I encourage any potential patron to read the owner's response to my above recounting of my experiences today. Please consider the fact that though I, a customer, was able to witness and clearly hear this interaction (in which the words "you're so fired" could be heard clearly), in which he said in a voice loud enough for another customer and I to exchange raised eyebrows, yet tells me I shouldn't stick my nose where it doesn't belong. I may point out that no denial has been given to the whole interaction, proof that this is not an invention of my imagination. Guess my nose doesn't belong in the main room of your establishment where you do business. My company has been selling with you for almost a year, but no longer. Pain should not beget pain. Read moreGot in at 254pm because of childcare and school pickup and we usually get there between 2:45 and 2:55 their hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m. I said we couldn't get here any sooner because of traffic not only did he treat me poorly but he weighed my property differently and cheated me out of about 116 by saying a small piece of impurity on the outside average out on that whole side as 80% pure and the other side was 99% pure rather than acknowledging that it was an outside blemish 0 he treated it as it was the same throughout an average one side because of a blemish for the whole weight of the piece which was18 troy Oz he said our peace which was 98% pure at the very least was 94% pure because he averaged each side when I when I asked why he said I was telling him how to run his business.
