El Nopal Fern Creek — Restaurant in Louisville

There were 3 adults 2 kids. It was very hard to communicate with our waiter, he wasn't understanding some of our request, therefore the order wasn't correct and we got charged for things we didn't ask for. That being said, the food was really, everybody was happy with what they got. But it was a little more expensive than the Mexican places we normally eat at. So we were a little shocked. And in of the adults asked for another adult beverage before she had finished with the first and she wanted to try something different, it took quite awhile for her to get the first one so she thought she'd better go ahead and put in her order and the waiter tried to take the first one thinking she didn't like it and she was like no this is fine I just want to try something else, and he had a really confused look on his face and didn't know what it why she wanted another one. Unfortunately, we had an absolutely horrible experience all around. Management was unapologetic and complacent to poor service provided. There was absolutely no motivation or accountability to improve their services. Food was bland, weakly seasoned, and of poor quality. Additionally, establishment was insensitive and complicit in creating an unsafe space safe for cultural differentiation and inclusivity, allowing a certain race of individuals to intentionally disrupt our dining experience. Though initially excited that the Fern Creek El Nopal was back in business after a fire destroyed their original space, I now wholeheartedly retract that sentiment. It is a shame. I wish they had a place for drinks ratings. My friend and i aren't heavy drinkers, maybe occasional drinkers. Well, needless to say, we had 6 shots of Don Julio. I had 1 of the six and a tequila sunrise that tasted like pure orange juice. My friend had the remaining shots on a dare with some other drink and some type of coconut drink. When i tell you they gave us house tequila, I'm not lying. It had no flavor, it was dry and didn't go down smooth. After all that liquor and little food we felt nothing.
