Terrible Customer Service! I went in to return a pair of sandals that I ordered online, and was treated like a criminal. I had ordered several pair of this same sandal at the beginning of summer in different colors. They were a dressy sandal, not something for everyday wear. So, after wearing one pair maybe 4 or 5 times, the entire side of the sandal and broken off. So, I stopped in the store to see if I could exchange them or return them. I didn't have a receipt, but I had used my Kohl's card so I knew they could pull up the purchase. When Customer Service calls up Melissa from shoes to see if they had the shoe in store, Melissa arrives already shaking her head no before even hearing the situation. She grabs the shoe, shakes her head no again, and says the shoes aren't from there. I told her, I had purchased them online, but they had broken after just a few wears. You could still see all the words on the sole, so it was obvious they were barely worn. She said no, she wasn't taking them back. So, a manager arrives and looks the product up on the kiosk in the store and finds them, and my proof of purchase from the online store. She asked what size I wore and I told her an 8, Melissa walks over and rudely states that there aren't sizes only, small, medium and large and stomps away. So, I tell the manager it was probably a large. They credit my card and all is complete. When we pull the manager aside to tell her how rudely we were treated by Melissa, and treated like we were trying to scam them, the manager informed us that we were the 4th shoe return that day, and while we had a legitimate problem, some customers tried to bring in 4 month old shoes and return them, so she sees both sides, but that she agreed Melissa is abrasive to customers and this was one of many complaints. As a mom who spends a lot of money on school clothes, toys and home decor at Kohl's, the incident definitely made me rethink my shopping options. I won't be returning to this store and Melissa needs to be reminded of the store's Hassle Free Return policy and how to work with the public. Don't treat your customers like thieves. This is only the second return I've...
Read moreI received a gift for Christmas from Kohls. A nice gift, but I just didn't have a need for it. I packed my two young children in the car to exchange the gift.. because of the value of the gift they gave me the run around about a "corporate refund". They gave me a receipt and told me to call this 800 number if I hadn't received my "check" or "store credit" in 10 days. I decided since I had made the trip I would do some shopping for my children for new clothes. The sales clerk followed me around the store. This is when I realized they thought I was returning stolen merchandise. Long story short 10 days go by and nothing. So I called the 800 number for the corporate refund office. I spent a total of 3.5 hours on 5 different occasions before I even spoke to anyone. They have a "call back" feature where you don't loose your place in line. That's the biggest lie. I left my number on two occasions and NEVER received a call back. Finally when I did speak with someone 18 days had gone by since I initially returned the gift. They asked me all these questions about who had bought the gift and where etc. which I was able to answer and they were able to validate the purchase. They said they were going to issue me a merchandise credit, which was what I wanted in the first place and it would come in 5-7 business days. Well it has now been 10 business days and still no merchandise credit has arrived. It's February. This was a Christmas gift. I am baffled at how such a large profitable company uses snail mail to deliver merchandise credit. I am super disappointed because I really used to love Kohls. Never I repeat never has it been this hard for me to return or exchange something from this store or any store for that matter. After this whole ordeal I will NEVER shop at their store again. And next year I surely hope no one buys me or my children something from Kohls or a gift card because I will donate that headache... maybe sometime in March I can redeem my merchandise credit from Christmas. Kohls you are no good...
Read moreI will NOT be shopping at Kohls again. Today I learned why I always end up paying more at checkout than I anticipate.
I found a top and the sale sign above it said $24.99. I realize that Kohls marks up their prices to make the consumer feel like they are getting a good deal so I normally only buy with a coupon. (Today I had Kohls cash from shopping Christmas Eve.)
At checkout it rang up $29.99. I was ready to leave so I just mentioned to the (nice) cashier "That's fine, but it is on sale for $24.99." (I was going to pay the $5 just to be done shopping.) Instead, the (nice) cashier asked another worker to do a price check. The worker responded "I will, but I'm sure whatever it rings up is correct." This caught my attention because she said it in a VERY nasty tone of voice.
The (nasty tone of voice) worker came back and said it was indeed $29.99. I was SHOCKED. I knew the sale sign on that rack of sweaters said $24.99 so I asked the (nasty) worker to show me because I was so confused. As we walked I kept thinking I was losing my mind...I knew it said $24.99...
I wasn't losing my mind. The sale sign above my rack of sweaters said $24.99. However, the (nasty) worker told me that sale sign was for a different rack of sweaters. What? I was so confused. So I asked, "Don't you think it is misleading to label a rack of sweaters on sale when really it is the rack of sweaters to the right?"
At this point, she was the NASTIEST worker I have ever encountered in the sales industry. While I kept my cool and simply voiced "That is wrong to label a different rack," she looked down on me and said with disgust, "We do it all the time."
I was SHOCKED that this is a Kohl's practice. However, I would have still shopped there since I live less than a mile away. But, when this NASTY lady told me she was a supervisor, I was done. I won't shop Kohls if that is the type of...
