Kroger — Local services in Louisville

I had a very frustrating experience with the catering service at the Ballardsville Kroger and cannot recommend it.

Here's why: Lack of Training: The staff clearly lacked the training needed to handle catering orders. When I visited on 12/13 after work to place a department holiday party order, no one in the deli department knew how to process it. It took over 10 minutes for the manager (Ben) to step in. While the deli employee was friendly and apologetic, they admitted the lack of proper training.

Order Mismanagement: My order was completely lost. On 12/17, the day before my scheduled pickup, I tried calling multiple times to confirm the order, but no one answered the phone at deli department. This forced me to visit the store in person, only to discover my order hadn’t been recorded. I had to escalate the issue to the store manager, who assured me everything would be sorted out.

Pickup Chaos: On 12/18, when I arrived to pick up the order, part of the food was missing. After another long wait, the missing items were located, but the ordeal didn’t end there. At checkout, some items lacked price tags, and neither the cashier, the supervisor, nor the assistant manager knew how to resolve the issue quickly. Shouldn’t they be able to input prices manually since I have the paper order written by their store manager? Instead, it took another long wait time just to print two price tags, causing unnecessary stress as my department holiday party was about to start.

Overall: This could have been a better managed process from start to finish. While the staff tried their best under the circumstances, the lack of training and organization left me extremely disappointed and stressed. I expected much better from a reputable...

I ordered a $75 Boneless Turkey Dinner - serves 4-6 from the new Ballardsville Kroger. My Mom was hoping this would give me a break. When I picked it up, I thought I would be picking up containers from what was cooked at the store, but instead, I got a box of microwavable packages. I went ahead and tried it, and basically had to bake everything anyway. The food was absolutely awful. Green bean casserole and dressing were horrible. Turkey tasted like it was dipped in pepper-nasty. Mashed potatoes were the only thing my we could eat. I was very disappointed! There were three of us, and we all agreed this was disgusting. Hope your Thanksgiving meal was better than ours. There will for sure NOT be a next time for me...

Online it says open 24 hours 7 days a week. I drove out of my way because of that only to find out that they close at 11pm. Only the gas pumps are 24 hours. If that’s the case, it should say that. Management needs to go online and change the store hours so this doesn’t happen to anyone else.
