Have shopped here numerous times in the past but my last experience was not pleasant. This was on a Monday afternoon and it was only me and 1 other person that was already being waited on. As well, there were 3 employees behind the counter and not one greeted me. I waited at the gun counter for over 15 minutes before finally asking for assistance. Within 5 minutes an employee greeted me and was (I hate to say) not very friendly. I told him I was here to pickup a new gun I had ordered a week ago. He arrived back to the counter with the new gun and asked me to fill out the questionnaire which I did. I had mentioned to him that the salesperson who had sold me the gun a week ago said if I find the same gun at a lower price from another Brick and Mortar store that Cabellas would price match. I showed him a price from 2 B+M stores and he refused to price match (approx $35 difference) claiming that the gun had to be an "In Stock" item. Cabella's had to order the same gun that both these other B+M stores would have had to order as well because the Stainless Steel model is not a "stock" item, but the Black Matte finish was at all 3 stores. Ultimately he denied my claim. Once we had this discussion, he went from uninterested to mildly rude. He out of the blue asked if I was purchasing this gun for someone else, and had this look on his face as if I was?? Maybe because I had a friend with me?? Then, I had accidentally filled out one of the questions incorrectly and while verifying this he got more irritated and told me to start the questionnaire over again which I completed again within 5 minutes. Once I finished it, I never saw him again?? Another employee came up to me to ask if there was a problem and I told him the situation which he plainly said Sorry and left it at that. I then proceeded to wait another 30-40 minutes before finally completing the purchase (there was only 1 person ahead of me at the gun checkout area). Another register opened up and after waiting a couple minutes for him (different employee) to call me over (which didn't happen), I walked over to the register and asked if he could complete the purchase for me so I could finally leave. He said sure and completed the sale for me. 1.5 Hours for something that should have taken 30 min tops. You've lost a...
Read moreWOW !!! I have never written a review before but this experience needs to shared this is defiantly the worst customer service I have ever seen in my life. I went to the store because I received a gift card otherwise I know better but that aside I took my daughter who is on a shooting team to look at rifles after hanging around for 20 minutes watching a employee inspecting the very rifles we were interested in, she never offered to help us,
I walked up to the employee sitting on a stool in front the Expensive Gun Room and asked him if he could help us, he called to the girl who then decided to turn around and help us long story short we decided to purchase a rifle through the kiosk and have it delivered to the store .
After checking there web site this morning i found out the gun had been delivered so I went to pick it up, my first trip back to the pick up counter i found 3 employees 1 woman behind the counter 2 men in front hanging out together after I walked up and stood for a minute one of the employees told me to go ahead. I showed her my order number and she had me sign for it at that point she said "oh this is a firearm you will need to go to the gun counter to pick this up "
I went to the gun counter and there were 2 people both with a customer. I stood right by the pick up your firearms counter and made eye contact with both, I then waited 15 to 20 minutes while they tried to sell merchandise finally I went back to the employee on the stool and asked him if he could help at which point he told me he could not get up from the stool and then proceeded to get up from the stool and walk me back to the busy employee and tell him I was next ( I thought he may have wanted to call for one of the guys hanging out at the pick up desk?) finally I purchased the gun and what I can only assume was a manager or assistant manager came over to verify the paperwork there was still a lot of folks waiting everywhere but he just stood there for about 20 minutes while myself and the employee helping me corrected some paperwork and never helped a customer (real let them wait kind of guy )Total time to pick up a already paid for rifle 1 hour 25 minutes WOW !!!
Last comment from employee " hope you can enjoy whats left of your day" Cabala's has a real prize team running...
Read moreCabela's and Bass Pro Shops have provided the worst firearm purchasing experience I've ever had. I've purchased firearms from several different companies over the years but these stores take the cake.
I purchased a revolver right before the 4th of July last year and I almost told the guy at the counter to just keep it, he couldn't of been less enthusiastic about the sale and barely said anything to myself and my wife other than the warnings he's required to give right before the purchase, the sale took forever and I'm actually surprised to find out that after coming in tonight to purchase a gift card for a secret santa party that he still works there, I think it would be in his best interest to find a business he actually wants to work for and can be enthusiastic about, I feel for him but his customer service skills were terrible.
Fast forward a few months to Bass Pro shops in Clarksville, I walked up to their firearms counter where there were 3 employees talking to 2 people, my friend and I were the only other people there and we stood there for about 10 minutes and none of the employees even looked at us, so we turned around and left - unbelievable.
Today at the Norton locationI noticed employees hanging out in the back of the gun vault meanwhile there were people standing at the counter that couldn't even get a rep to look their way (including myself as I wanted to look at a firearm for my wife but we finally gave up) a couple that had been standing there waiting to look at a Sig for about 15 minutes finally got someone only to be told that the firearm she was holding couldn't be sold to her as someone else was buying it!?!? Then why was it in the display? Cabela's doesn't deserve your business as far as firearms are concerned, they've made this very clear on multiple occasions.
3 strikes, you're out. I will not be making a firearms purchase from Cabela's or Bass pro...
